I have one of those matte black decals on the hood. Today at the car wash I was trying to rub out a hard water spot and ended up scuffing it up quite a bit. Is there a way to remove scuffs from the vinyl decals?

Park it in the sun. I got some rubbing compound on mine and made that part shiny... a few days in the sun and it was back to normal.

Give it some time in the sun before you go replacing it. I paid 50$ for mine on etsy

Anodized water should remove remove the water spots. I have one to rinse my cars after washing,no need to dry it off. Amazon has them

It was my fault and not knowing how to take care of the matte decal. I should have used a matte decal type product that’s made to remove water spots, not tried to dry buff it out like you can on regular waxed paint surfaces. Now I just have to figure out how to get it replaced. Costly mistake and I’m still upset about it like six hours later. What a stupid mistake. I imagine I have to take it to a body shop for an estimate?

Take it to a sign shop that does vehicle wraps instead of a body shop.

Can’t hurt. I’ll google a couple places and swing by to see if they would apply the decal for me if I can find the OEM one online.

That should work, or they could probably make the decal and install too. It’s not a really complicated design. Hope you find a fix that works for you :)

I scratched the black vinyl decal on the doors with a tree branch, wax seems to help hide them.
