I’ll have to look. Any idea what it helps with? Seems like everything works unless it’s more for the JBL stuff.

Went to go and install this finally. I've got the entire console removed and a few other pieces in that area out for another project. Aaaaand I realize I didn't get the GPS antenna adapter.

Anyone else order from their ebay store? I ordered two weeks ago and received shipping confirmation pretty quickly but shipping info hasn't been updated since. Curious what your shipping experience was like.

I did. Try the tracking number on USPS. It might be a little more detailed. They don't tell you, but a signature is required for delivery.

Here's a success story for everyone. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport with the JBL audio system. I order the following items together from the dasaita-official-store on Ebay:

Additionally, I ordered the GPS antenna adapter that was in the OP.

Removal of the original head unit was simple. The mounting brackets were re-purposed. It required grinding the locator bumps flat and drilling three new holes in each bracket to line up with threaded holes on the new HU. No cutting was required. With the exception of one plug and several single wires (forever mysteries), everything easily connected to something. Note, I did not use the following harnesses/plugs:
    • HDMI connector
    • USB 2 & 3 (may run these into the center console in the future)
    • RCA harness
    • Mic (I'm currently using the mic on the front of the HU, phone call tests seemed good)
    • Satellite antenna
    • Front camera (I plan to connect a Natika camera from Amazon in the near future)

Upon starting the car, everything worked. Steering wheel buttons worked (no programming required). I was able to connect to my home WiFi and use apps like Chrome, Google Maps, YouTube, etc. GPS with the OEM GPS antenna worked. The radio and Bluetooth connection also worked. The OEM rear camera with OEM lines worked and also included a color coded back-up sensor overlay display that I did not have before (very nice). CarPlay is done through the Zlink app. It is wireless!!! However, it's helpful to know how the connection is made. A Bluetooth connection between the iPhone and HU is required first. Once that handshake is complete, a WiFi connection is established and that is the means of the CarPlay communication. Therefore, it takes a moment to finalize this connection. Additionally, you will not be able to connect to other WiFi devices while connected to wireless CarPlay (no surprise there). And for clarification, I am not using the USB dongle for the wireless CarPlay connection.

The very first boot-up took a moment. However, all start-ups since have been fast (use auto sleep).
Settings --> Car --> Extra Settings --> Shutdown display = Auto Sleep

The default chime volume when pressing buttons is very loud. It's easy to adjust/disable in settings.

There are two things that I have not been able to address entirely.
    • In general, the volume on all things is very loud. A setting of 2-5 out of 24 was plenty! My only remedy was to dial all bands down on the EQ. There was no -11. This adjustment puts 6-9 at a sufficient volume level. However, 12-16 would be ideal. Sound quality is great!
    • Phone calls with CarPlay are quiet, even relative to other things within CarPlay. I have to bump the volume up 2-3 levels for calls.
So far, all tests have been in the driveway. Complete swap, configuring settings, and documentation took less than 4 hours. Hope that helps!

That's exactly what I ordered. It's encouraging to hear that everything is working well for you. Now I'll just continue to wait...

Yup. Ordered it right after I discovered my mistake. They're not far from me so I'm hoping it gets here quickly.

It varies. If they shipped it DHL you should get it pretty quick 1-2 weeks. Since it seems this was shipped china post, EMS or e-packet then your looking at a longer ship time. The bad thing about that is it can go dark for some period of time before it shows up in the USPS tracking. I got my unit shipped via DHL but later needed to buy the canbus and ordered external TPMS module and that was shipped EMS or china post and it was dark for a couple weeks before it popped up in the US in customs. Give it time. If it has been 3 weeks hit them up but not much they can do once its shipped.

below is my tracking when I had Dasaita ship me the canbus. Took almost 2-3 weeks. Most likely it’s stuck in customs.

I'm hoping someone can help me out, I have it mostly installed but steering wheel controls aren't working. I have the jbl w/ backup camera canbus plugged in so I'm assuming that there must be a setting somewhere that I need to change. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

I didn't think your OEM HU was the JBL version? I didn't have to change any settings for the SWC to work.

It isn't the JBL unit, but I was told by Iris that it was still the canbus that I would need. Hope she was right.

Does anyone wish they just went with a proven head unit/brand? Installing this seems like much more work than usual

Did you change anything in the canbus settings in order to get the steering wheel buttons and camera to work?

Try swaping the input you have the camera on. there are 2 outputs from the canbus. Only 1 of them works. Camera should work without any changes. Go into the settings 126 and change to canbus. Id have to look but there is one part that is default to SWC switch it to canbus. Also change the canbus to RAV4 for it al to work.

I am in the middle on it. Some of it just needs to be more up front. They obviously designed this for early 1st gen which is why the hazard does not fit unless its pre 2012 due to a part needed. Then there is the power harness. Should just easily have pre 2012 and post 2012 and it does not seem to matter if there is a JBL or not. I went through all of that but its working great now.
