I know exactly why the prosecutor went silent as soon as I mentioned the name of the bar where I worked...

The owner of the bar is a lawyer, and all law enforcement in Doylestown knows he owns this bar (cops, prosecutors, DAs, etc). What’s ironic is that I was convinced the old man was going to sue me for repairs to his Mercedes and actually went to the lawyer who owned the bar for legal advice. I never officially retained him and thus was never officially his client, because luckily my insurance company dealt with everything. At some point, Sir Drinks-A-Lot did his research and hired who in my opinion is the best attorney in the county.

The prosecutor said there was no conflict of interest but was unsure of how to proceed. Somehow, my lawyer friend never put two and two together despite the fact that he’d known about the accident prior to being hired by the guy who hired it.

A short time later, the drunk guy ended up pleading guilt and receiving a substantial fine, a one-year license suspension, and 40 days in jail (to be served on weekends due to his age). The lawyer got me a nice little restitution, which I was happy about and spent on a stereo system upgrade and some dashcams for my truck, but I was pissed that the alcoholic old fart didn’t lose his license permanently.

One can only hope that the guy learned his lesson this time, but since he didn’t learn his lesson almost 30 years after killing someone while driving drunk, I don’t have much hope.

What I do hope is that if he does this again, the next person he hits also comes out of the accident unhurt and gives him the beating he deserves.

No, just one of the Navy Doctors suggested that it could be the case.

I was diagnosed in November 1998 at the age of 9, by a civilian doctor when we were living in Virginia Beach. My parents chose not to tell me upfront, planning to either wait until I asked about it or tell me when I was older.

I found out in about August 2000 when my parents enrolled me in a new school after we had moved, and I got curious and went through my mom’s files while we were at the school getting me enrolled.

And I despise smoking myself but like I said, it seems to be the lesser of two evils compared to vaping!

My baby is a 2010 RC 5-lug slushbox that my dad bought me when I got my learner's permit, and I pride myself on taking excellent care of it...

I have been running full synthetic since about 80K (January 2018). I started out with Valvoline because I was going on a long trip that weekend and didn't have time to buy Mobil 1. I was anxious to use Mobil 1 so I started running that at a little past 84K (June 2018). I got the oil changed again at about 92K (I believe in January or February 2019?) I last had it changed at a little past 99K, this past July. Now I am at a little under 106,400 miles.

We recently converted our garage into a "garage-majal" and my dad has finally agreed to let me start changing my own oil (something I've known how to do since before I was old enough to drive)!

So, should I keep my intervals at 7,500-8,000 miles, extend it to 10K, or go back to every 5K? My mechanic who currently changes my oil says no more than 7,500 while my dad and uncle say every 10K is fine. My friend who was a mechanic for a bit says I should stick to every 5K since my truck is a daily driver.

Oil is good for a lot of miles if the truck runs non-stop.
Less if you turn it off and restart it.

There's a happy medium that only analysis will tell you unless you just want to go by the color.

I'd say my truck goes through two to six start/shutoff/restart cycles in a day. I only started and shut it off twice today because I drove five miles to work and five miles back home; I did not do DoorDash today because it was a shitty rainy day.

    there's too many variables still.
Blackstone will guide you for the future, I just change mine at 5K no matter what anybody else says even though it prob. is good for 10.

Thing is...I put about 5K a year. That's as long as i want it in there.
I also like keeping track of 5K. 150K. 155K etc.etc. I imagine any number you go with is easy enough to track. I keep to the schedule so tight I'll pull over and drain on the side of the road and refill. Give it back to the earth, I say.

I’d change it every 7500 miles with Walmart Supertech and forget about Blackstone. You could buy 2+ oil changes worth of oil for what they will tell you.
