    Try jumping out the clutch safety switch.

    see if that cures the problem.


    If the starter is the issue no amount of stomping on the clutch will change anything.

    Unplug the switch make a jumper wire with the proper connectors.

    Plug it in .

    See if it cranks and starts

    Sometimes the adjustment can be tricky .

    Don`t get the pedal completely to the floor the switch does not close

    To me it sounds like the contacts in the solenoid on the starter need to be replaced. But I always think that's everybody's starting problem

    Take the floor mat out....
    Can’t really see if the pedal is hitting the top edge.
    Try that first....

    I'll second that it's probably the starter contacts. You can find lots of info, pictures and videos on how to replace them.

    I think the same.

    Stumping on the floor make shakes the whole truck and the starter contacts may settle and connect. Probably the same result you will get if while pressing the clutch with left foot you stump on the floor with the right foot (or hit the starter with a hammer).

    Sounds pretty normal to me or at least not abnormal from what I could tell. Once you let off the key a spring pulls the starter gear back and maybe the starter motor continues to spin for a second.
