Hi Everyone, I’ve been thinking about buying 5100s all around and 885s for my 2015 Double cab. How much lift should I expect if I set the shocks to “0”

Will the back be level or should I do an AAL also.

    Thank you!

According to The 2885 coil set will

    TACOMA 05-15+:

    • Approximately 1.75" - 2" lift on a stock 2005+ Tacoma with no Bull-Bar or Winch

So you’d need to measure height of your Rear currently. (Figure 1)
Then measure the height of the Front CURRENTLY and add +2” to the measurement. (Figure 2)

If Figure 1 and Figure 2 match. No AAL should be needed to level the truck.
If Figure 1 is less than Figure 2. An AAL will be needed.

I suggest an AAL or new Spring Pack. As the OEM Are pretty soft in my opinion.

@HeadStrong Off-Road or @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc can probably help you out.

Thank you! Will I be fine running stock UCA’s? And will I need a diff drop kit?

Most people don’t have issues until they get to 2.5”+ to 3”, but some reports have 2.5” needing aftermarket UCA.

As for the diff drop. The general consensus is “don’t bother”.
It possible that they can cause more harm than good.

It actually rotates the diff down. Yes, this does “drop” the front axles lower.
Thus, putting the axles at a slightly better angle.
But it also puts the diff lower under the truck. If you take a hit to the diff thinges can get ugly.
Just ask @mjp2 . He can tell you first hand what happens when the trail throws a big rock in your path.

There are many, many, more members here more knowledgeable than me on lifts.
I feel quite sure they will jump in and help shortly.

My exact situation and this answered it perfectly. My wrinkle is that I just put a shell on mine....I suspect with the extra weight of the shell I might do better with the AAL. I’m exactly 2 inches higher in the back but once I level the front and put stuff in the back....well.
Now I just need to find the cash.
