They changed the head gasket design in Nov 2005, if your pre 11/2005 Manu date, you have a faulty head gasket. Your in the mileage range. Usually around 135-175k miles a hairline leak starts on cylinder 6. First sign is usually a water wooshing sound under the dash when you first start it after being parked a while. Then bubbles in coolant.... Etc

Well damn now I’m scared! I’ve been hearing the water whooshing sound for a while!

Then it's started failing. Keep an eye on cylinder 6 and coolant level.

I keep a close eye on my coolant, and I’ve never lost any. Just for fun I checked for bubbles in my system yesterday, and I only had about 6 bubbles come up after about 30 minutes of idling with the cap off and the front end jacked up a little. If it is leaking, it’s extremely small. Is there another potential source for air in the system?

An decent 2nd gen access cab can be found pretty easily for about $12k. If your son is doing payments and financing that's like an extra $40 a month over the 10k?

    Like, so many.
Probably the best value in the midsize truck market right now.

    Stuff, things, this, an ADS
My uncle a few months ago got a 2019 brand new ac frontier 4x4 for 27k out the door. It’s the one right below the pro4x trim

For 10k, you’re gonna get a junk Tacoma with issues. Our trucks hold their value.
