DD718444-65CA-4C0F-B69C-7B987B292F6B.jpg I decided to sell my paid off, beautiful ‘17 6MT OR in order to pocket some cash for my new business.

I picked up a ‘16 SR5 2.7 2wd for $17k, it’s great on gas and I’m financing roughly half of it so I have as much cash in hand as possible. 636276D3-6D20-4230-B642-47030EFF34A6.jpg

I dig the truck, but I really feel like it just needs an extra 15-20hp, especially on the highway. My last truck was OVtuned, but I read that Matt doesn’t offer anything for the 2.7... is there anything else out there? Really have to mash the pedal in to make it move when ECT isn’t on. I’d also prefer not to be doing the 4-5-6 dance at 80mph (like my auto 2016 did before OVTune....) i didn’t think I’d be having this issue in FL since it’s so flat. Recently moved from the PNW and I’d NEVER even consider a 4cyl there.

I think I should have bought a 2wd 3.5 with high miles... or a 2nd gen lol. But I’m stuck with this now :notsure:
If anyone has any recommendations for tuning please let me know.

Ride a moped around to “cleanse your palate” so to speak. That truck will last you forever and will break the speed limit.

Find a used NASA rocket booster

That 2.7 is such a reliable engine that I don’t even mind how slow it is! I have the double cab too lol. I drive it 100 miles a day for a year now and still have my sanity....but I did come from 2.7 4Runner with bad compression lol.

When you’re traveling between Florida and NorCal, stop off in Arkansas and I’ll buy that shell from you.

You’re getting good advice my friend, just drive it.
I did the LCE header and the URD Stage II SC on my ‘16 2.7 2WD AccessCab. It’s got more power, but did nothing for the loco shifting auto trans, so I drive on the manual side 90% of the time in 4th & 5th gear. If you’re willing to sacrifice gas mileage change differential ratios to 4.56 or 4.88 that’ll make it quicker.

Regear. Should cost around $1200 for parts and labor since you only have to do one end. You'll be amazed at the difference.

Smaller / thinner tires. Lose weight. Enjoy the drive. Enjoy reliability and longevity?
