Installed the new 9/16" flush mount rubber plugs for sheet metal. Will hold up better than the factory (OEM) flaps. These have a good tight fit, and look awesome to! Checked that of the list that needed fixing on my truck.

Where and how many plugs did you get? Would you have apart number/ brand?

    Thanks.

Jeez, they should be there. Unless 97 Tacoma's had different rocker holes. My truck is a 2003

The drains are in the crimp weld down the whole rocker length if I am right. There are little slots in the crimp weld so water can drain. There is also small holes up front behind the front mud flap for water to drain. I could be wrong on this tho, so do not hold me to it, haha

Yours may not have as many factory 9/16" holes like I have in mine. I have 6 factory 9/16" holes on each side.

My main goal from all this was to just seal those 9/16" holes up (as I have KM3 mud tires on it) to keep mud/ and rocks out of the rockers. And these plugs are going to do just that, quite nicely. They fit really good to. Toyota should have done this from factory, VS the flaps that where glued to the rockers

I would suggest some type of bed liner to repaint your rockers if you are having chipping issues. Line-X is great stuff!! Just do not block the drain holes as that would be very bad. If and when my rockers get pitted/ chipped a lot down the road I am going to have to look into getting them repainted also. I am not sure if I would want a body shop to paint them, and put the clear sticker over when done, or just have the Line-X guys go to town on it.

Twice a year I dump a gallon of wd-40 in every hole I can find with a pump sprayer with modified long wand tube. I put a painting tarp on ground and spray the living hell out of it till it’s dripping from everywhere. Frame, rockers and doors look new.

ok, so i sprayed the FF/cf3k mix under my truck (late last fall) on the dealer applied undercoating, made it all black like new bad ass looking yay!

BUT, i was checking under earlier this week and those factory rubber squares w/adhesive all curled up funky on the edges and are in danger of probably just falling off and i need to figure what to do
i will try to get a pic to see you what kind of mess they became after spraying over them

from the link the OP @Hunt/Taco posted those round rubber plugs are out of stock it looks like on the link provided
