Yep. Took the first load of stuff over. Probably at least 2-3 more truck loads to get all the stuff going into the shop right now. I need to decide if I'm going to put all my reloading stuff in the shop or set it up in one of the spare bedrooms as I have been doing. I'm leaning toward leaving the reloading in the house and keeping the shop space for car/truck work and woodworking as I gather tools in the future.

I’d leave it inside that way it doesn’t get dirty in the shop

The less clutter the more convenient and encouraging it is to work in a space. At least that’s my thought.

That's a good point. I was thinking more of the temp swing for the powder life. The shop is heated/cooled, but it'll stay set cold in the winter and warm in the summer to keep cost down unless I'm out there working.

Definitely agree that less clutter is a good thing.

Congrats Jeremy the only thing better is the day you pay it off. Really nice garage I'd probably never go into the house

 Garage...only thing my house is missing, but doesn't work with the layout of the house, so it wouldn't be attached and don't have good space for it on the property:annoyed:

I've definitely got enough projects backed up for the truck to keep me busy for awhile. That little shelf under the bench in the last 3 pictures is already full of parts for the truck, and I know I have more to take over.

However, if I get tired of the shop or it's too hot, there's always the pool to enjoy. I just have to learn how to take care of it. Though the seller already offered to come by sometime to show me how to work everything, so that's nice of him.

Mine isn't attached. My property is 2 lots, so the shop is on the second lot. The house has an attached "carport", which is basically a garage with no doors on it.

Yeah, my neighbor had the same house as us just flipped and their garage is under the bedrooms and enters into the lower part of a tri-level...so you can't just build it off the side of the house or it would be odd.
This is what it looked like when we bought it and then 5 years later plus a repainted door.

I tried turning from Old Keene Mill RD onto Fairfax County Parkway during the rain earlier and whatever they've repaved it with DOES NOT cooperate with my tires at all. I shit you not, I literally was free spinning for 15 seconds after making the turn with only 1/4th throttle. Thank god nobody was coming at the time.

I am going to keep exploring, I have learned a lot. I wonder if looking at Jeep rear suspension designs is the way to go. There is a wealth of information on Jeep websites. Taco owners seem to just change to leaf under axle setups. But the 4 link system is the way to go to deal with all the problems associated with a “floating” axle. I understand why off roaders go with jeep rubricons. You get a solid front axle locking difs and coil springs plus lots of aftermarket equipment.

Thinking about all of the design elements that go into suspension systems to have a vehicle navigate over difficult terrain leads me to the conclusion that compromise is the way to go. Sure, the axle moves back and forth as the leaf spring flexes, the dif and driveshaft angle changes, the axle gets out of alignment with the frame, etc, but in the real world does that actually matter...just thinking?

for most..probably not. My truck spends more time off road than on and I exceed the limits of standard length leafs every time I drive around my property. My front suspension is long travel and the rear can’t keep up. This link system will be a better match to my front and make for a more uniform suspension system. That and I’ve already purchased everything and just waiting on the last of the parts to arrive. No turning back now!

got it...I need to explore how to design front and rear suspensions to get roll centers to work together and work dynamically. And to minimize roll moment.

@LocoLocal David’s harness looks like stock BD, those pins can plug into a waterproof case thing. These are The ones I bought when I redid everything. I might have the stock BD harness laying around though since I used a fuse block instead of the harness.
