I would have been a lot higher in power if I didn't skip a couple days this week. I'll hit 935 later on today for the raid tonight.

Yeah, I'll be on in about an hour for the rest of the night. Rich is jumping on after he gets ready for his camping trip. Heading home for the day, done with fucking work. See you in there.

So I finished up IB last night. I haven't played PvP in over a year. We went in as a clan and got pubstomped the first four games so I thought this is going to be a shitty night. But then we got our groove on and won the rest of our matches. We played around 15 matches as a clan and won 11. Then everyone got off but I wanted to finish the quest that Saladbar gives out so you can turn in your tokens so I played another 15-20 games. Kept getting dropped into games already in progress which didn't surprise me solo queuing. I got dropped into the middle of a match and they were getting the shit beat out of them. But we ended up coming back and I ended up with the highest kills in the game so I felt pretty good about that especially since not playing for a year. One thing is for sure... I need to go after the Recluse. It is stupid strong. My Sub will compete with it but if they get the first shot off they will win.

It's kind of weird that they locked turning in all your tokens behind a quest. You have to win (or play 30 games IIRC), get 25 kills with a plus rifle, 25 kills with a fusion rifle, 25 kills with a sub machine gun, and 25 kills with a grenade launcher. I think you have to reach a certain valor rank also but I could be mistaken. *EDIT* You have to cap 40 zones I think? I didn't pay that much attention to the quest. I never do. I just do them until they are finished. So I finished IB in one night and only went negative twice and every game was sweaty as fuck. So here's to hoping they bring back Trials. I will say one thing.... If you want to level up fast? DO IB. Every reward is a Pinnacle reward. I went from 937 to 951 in a few hours and have a shit ton of + 950 gear and weapons sitting in the vault.

I do like the new armor though. There are a few weapons that are new but I only found a fusion rifle (which is pretty damn good) and a RL. Don't know if there is anymore in the pool? Checked Saladbar and all he showed was old weapons.

Oh... and the Redrix still competes in PvP. I thought they nerfed Desperado but it was only nerfed in PvE.

Like I said before.... It's just another game mode. Treat it as PvE but the AI is much more intelligent and unpredictable. IB will be tough on you I won't lie since your level is pretty low and level advantages are enabled. And it's sweaty as fuck right now. I went in at 937 and going against people that were 960 it took an extra shot or two to kill them and maybe one shot less for them to kill me. But as I started gaining gear after leveling up (which you will do fast) it became even. Then it was skill vs skill. The only thing that I don't like about IB is it is on a three map rotation and Twilight Gap came up at least 70% of the time and that is one of my least favorite maps. But it is what it is. Stick with at least one other in your team (unless you have really good map awareness and can get out of a sticky situation), play the objective, and shoot others in the face while dodging incoming fire. It's just PvP. No big deal.

You like pulse rifles so they are pretty dominate in the game right now. That was all I used the entire time and had no trouble three tapping people then when Desperado proc'd it was game on. But if you have the Adhortative pulse rifle with Feeding Frenzy + Multikill Clip (or explosive rounds to flinch the other players) you will do just fine. The only issue is, it's a secondary so you will have to put something in your primary slot. The quest steps require you to get 25 kills with a variety of weapons so there is another hurdle you'll have to jump. I thought getting 25 kills with fusion rifles was going to suck but in reality it was a lot of fun just running around mobbing people with it. I didn't know I liked fusion rifles so much but I do now. They are a true one hitter quitter. Get a good Erintil with a good roll on it and go to town. The Subjunctive Sub from the Vex Offensive is almost as powerful as the recluse as long as you have a good roll on it. The recluse will beat it if they get the first shot off or the buff for that gun is active. But if not you will roll through them. Then you have to cap 40 zones IIRC. Once I got that part of the quest done I just run off and play it like straight up clash (especially if I'm solo queuing). Dick move on my part but I don't care. I'm in it for the kills and completing the quest. If we win we win. If we lose we lose. Don't care. As long as my K/D is higher than anyone else that's all I care about. My K/D went up last night when I fully expected it to go down since I haven't stepped foot in crucible in a year.

You wonder how I get so many kills when we are running strikes together? I never pull out another gun but the Subjunctive since it has such a god roll on it and it will burn through most anything.

Yes... my clan talked me into coming back. I won't lie and say that I almost didn't. But I decided (against my better judgment) to give it one more shot. I wished nothing but hate for Bungie last year and that may still hold true if they go down the path that they chose last year. Time will tell on that. But enough of that...

    The Pros:

I really like the storyline and going back to the moon (although recycled content) is a lot of fun. I'm not usually one for recycling content but they have made it different enough to bring back some nostalgia along with a bunch of new activities to go along with it. So kudos to making it interesting. The vex invasions are fun and also the Vex Offensive. This week brought back IB and I completed the entire thing in about 4 hours. It took me from 937 all the way up to 955 in a few hours. I haven't even touched my milestones yet so I'll be 960 + by tonight or tomorrow. The raid (what I've played of it) is fun so far. We'll see as we progress through it. But... BY FAR the best change they made is Armor 2.0. That is what this game has needed from the start as it always keeps you on the lookout for better rolls. I got 2 full sets of IB armor the other night. One with void and one with solar. All above 950. So if you want pinnacle gear, that is the way to do it. It's weird that you can't turn in your tokens until you complete the quest but that's okay. Only took me an hour to complete it. I haven't stepped foot in crucible in a year and only went negative two times over 30-40 games so I felt really good about that. I like how easy it is to get materials to level up your items. That was definitely a step in the right direction. And being able to place cosmetics over your armor to make it look like you want was a nice touch. There are a lot of things to do and secrets to find out so I'm happy with that. PvP is in a great spot right now as there are so many more weapons that are valuable and viable in crucible instead of just hand cannons so that is nice to see. The Redrix still does major work. It took me through IB with no issue.

    The Cons:

Still no factions. FUCK FACTION RALLIES. No one likes them and never will. GO BACK TO D1 FACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no Trials. I just don't understand after over a year and a half there is still no Trials???? WTF Bungie?????????? You know what everyone wants and it's D1 3v3 Elimination. Simple as that.

But all in all it's a good expansion "for now". If they fuck up and go back to these mini expansions like last year I'll be out forever. It seems judging by the complete lack of posts this last year there wasn't much to do and I didn't miss anything. The Menagerie was a fucking joke and the raids (if you could call them that) were the same. So here's to hoping they stick to the path they are going right now. If they do, they just might pull it off. If they don't... I'll talk shit about them once again lol. But I'll eat some of my words from last year (even though they were justified). The did something that I didn't think they could do and they did it well.

Okay... This is the last step in getting the new Exotic Bow: Leviathan's Breath. It's a pretty easy quest. Once you pick up the quest from Banshee, you have to find his workshop (how to get there is at the end of the video). Go into the Nightfall and pick up items dropped by enemies or you can also play Gambit Prime. After that step, go back to Banshee and he will tell you to kill Cabal with crit shots with a bow. The easiest way to do this step is go into the Leviathan Raid and just kill Cabal since they keep spawning. You will need 75 crit shot kills to finish this step. It took me about 10 mins to finish this part of the quest. Go back to Banshee and you will have to play a special version of the Arms Dealer Strike. It is different than the regular version of the strike in many ways. The enemies hit MUCH harder and once you get to the end, you have to constantly be on the move since there are rockets firing at the ground the entire time you are in the last area. I went in solo and was the last guardian standing quite a bit but we got it done. It just took a while. After you finish that part of the quest, go back to Banshee and he will give you the key to open the cabinet that holds the bow. You have to go back to his workshop (again... you can see exactly how to get there in the video). Open the cabinet and the bow is yours. The entire quest took me about an hour doing it completely solo.

The bow itself is much like the Sleeper. It has the exact same time to fire, it does almost the same amount of damage, and is a good alternative if you don't have Izanagi’s Burden. So it's not the best at everything but it is a good exotic if you don't have certain weapons. There really isn't a place where this bow shines other than the 950 and above Nightfall since it staggers unstoppable enemies. Other than that... there really isn't a place for it that I would use it. It might be okay in certain parts of the raid but I don't think I'd use it there. But it's cool to have and pretty easy to get.

So here is the video and the path to take to get to Banshee's workshop.

I'll end up getting the bow because I already found the workshop for the first part of the quest and I just want it in my inventory. But I am not excited about it in the least.

What I really want is the Sacred Provenance pulse rifle. That things a beast. I'm almost ready to go in the raid. Just hit 939 last night, so not far to go.

I would be 950 by now, but I am constantly scrounging for ascendant shards. Rich and I were playing last night and he figured out that if you have Finest Weave material in your inventory then use it, it lasts until you get a shard, you just need to kill a boss. After he told me that I applied one and went into the Vex Offensive and on the first one got a shard.
Trouble is I only have 5 left so when they run out I'm back to grinding.

I used it in a couple of Nightfalls and it's fun to play around with. It hits like a truck if you get a crit shot. It's a lot like the sleeper since its draw time is the same as the sleeper. I'm not a big bow fan but this one is fun to play around with.

Have you taken it to the dreaming city and shot those big egg looking rocks yet? If you do, they drop legendary weapons.

You can do the raid at 920.

Ascendant Shards aren't too hard to come by. Do the bounties from Banshee each day and then break down any legendary that you don't want and you'll be surprised how many shards you can get. Then you randomly get shards for completing random bounties. I got 7 shards for completing a bounty from Zavala along with a legendary weapon. I like this system much more than the they way it used to be. So far I've always had enough to level any item up that I want. I Master Worked The Sacred Provenance for range and that took about 20 shards IIRC but it was worth it with that gun.
