Does anyone know what an estimate cost would be to get them professionally done to black? And not like a MAACO

The flairs on my Jeep got bad when I started keeping it outside. I let it go to long and nothing would work.

Put a new top on it, and it just made them look worst. I grabbed some 0000 steel wool and tried a small spot, a shit load of what looked like blue oxidation filled the steel wool, but it brought the flairs back to a nice black, I did all 4 of them and put a coat of Back to Black on them, and they looked great. I was able to keep them black with a weekly shot of Armor All after that.

I just got a 2020 TRD OR (white). I liked the painted flares better but didn't want the TRD Sport. But, after 4 weeks of ownership the black flares have grown on me especially in contrast to the color of my truck. If someone had a new 2020 white set, I might be willing to trade. Haven't really seen any 3 gen black flares that appeared to be "faded." Not worried about mine as my truck gets a lot of garage time and I won't keep it that long--4 years or 50K miles max is my trading point. Can't complain about how they hold their value. Private sold my 2016 SR5 for $25K and paid $30,500 OTD in December 2015.

Don't put plastic shit spray on there. You will be sorry when that shit doesn't peel off like everyone claims and it will make matters worse when you paint or wrap them. I personally would wrap them and when your done heat and peel away.

Or they don't if you take care of them. Truck has never been in the garage in 15 years.

A heat gun will bring the color back. Worked wonders on my old Tacoma. I heated them up and used a professional detail coating on them after a good polish. This is original paint and is flawless. Just shows how good it can look with a little care along the way.IMG_20190608_123928087.jpg

I agree, the problem is that many don't take care of them and they soon look horrible. Looks like we both take care of our trucks. Mine's never been in garage in 23 years.
