I do. The main concern is the "dual-hatting". I'm not being two functions/roles.

why do you say definitely? I've only been here 3 months.

either and neither. I don't mind either position, just don't want both. I just want direction.

In my last job I was hired to do one thing with the knowledge that I would fill in where needed. I ended up taking people’s jobs as they left the company and was filling 5-6 full time roles by the time I left that company.

I say this to say I know how you are feeling, but don’t have a direct answer as to what to do. I just kept letting them pile crap on me until I was working 60+ hours a week for nothing (with 0 overtime) and got a better job.

Just because it sounds like they're trying to throw extra responsibilities on you. I mean it can definitely be a good thing, but I would address it sooner than later, as InfernoChalupa suggested, just to make it known to them that you understand that you're taking on an extra role. I'll backtrack on the definitely ask for a raise, but I think discussing it with them now gives you good leverage to ask for a raise in the near future.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I've got a couple people to talk to that know my manager and should know some good advice on how to handle the situation better than I do. He's an "under manager" type guy where he doesn't just stand over your shoulder being an annoying manager, but it's to a fault where he actually doesn't do anything. Even if it is nice not having someone hound you about every second on your timesheet, it's a pain not having a manager that you've built a relationship with. he's approachable, but just meh...like he's gonna shrug his shoulders and say "idk".

example: I got a random email about some project management training, so I was like what the heck is this? I forwarded it to him and said did you request this or is this some training I need to do. his response? "find out"

yeah basically what you're saying is what I want to avoid, catch it before it happens. I get overtime pay, but that doesn't mean I want it.

No, and I'm not sure when I will. We had a money pit month with the house and Christmas is coming. Plus I want the CBI high clearance and the wife gave me the look of disappointment when I told her how much it cost. :pout:

I vote 4 Runner for no other reason than the top comes off! Plus you don't see them much anymore. 1st gen tacos are a dime a dozen.

4 runner for sure, but 4 door tacomas are about as rare as 1st gen runners since they were only made from what 2001 - 2004?
1st Gen Runners were made from 84-89? When the 4 door tacoma get's 30+ years old it will be even more rare, but so will the runner.

I used to wheel with a guy with an 88 4R and that thing was heavy as shit! It was so heavy, he could leave it 2wd and climb hills that I had to put my truck in 4wd for!

i wouldn't say it's heavy, it' probably only weighs 300 lbs more at most than an equal year pickup. It's just that the 100 lbs is on those back tires.

The rear end of the Tacoma is just so light. You have to put something in the bed when wheeling just to add traction.

I've got a steel bumper and swingout to take care of that problem. Lol. Most likely a good 200 lbs sitting on the rear end.
