If I had to guess I'd say the shipper did a shitty packing job. Looks like the contents shifted massively.

Having a Softopper and being a little unsatisfied with it, I was able to sell it.
Realizing I needed a cap more than I’d thought, but not being able to justify the time and the money it’d take for a new, actual truck cap, I ordered the new bestop on back order. A day later I saw a shell on a Cement Tacoma at a dealer....

After driving past the dealer for a week and talking about it, my cousin pushed me to just give them a call. I cancelled the bestop after that as well, hoping to set things in motion.
3 weeks later they gave me a call telling me they’d sell her for exactly the price I was hoping to score.

This truck is slowly becoming everything I had no idea I’d be able to build in less than a year.

Thank you guys for sharing yours as well.

If you don't mind me asking, what was it about the softtopper that you didn't like? I'm on the fence about getting one to replace my backlip tonneu cover

The softop is incredible, and convenient. I might not have used the right words. Personally there were a few things that didn’t work for me that were unforeseen.

    • Having the DECKED system made it frustrating for ME to fold it down.

    • Because of the DECKED system, I couldn’t open my tail gate and place items in the truck, ie. they need to be placed ontop of the DECKED, so I would need to unzip the front constantly if I just needed to grab something or place it in the bed, which I do quite often.

    • I have locks on the shell now and a window that opens on one side so I can access things from the side of the bed as well, whereas the softopper is limited to what can fit through the framing if you want to reach anything from the sides.

    • It looks cool, but I just like the look of a truck cap more.

    • Couldn’t find a way that was appealing l to get a rack over the softopper, which I might not ever need to, but any option to do so was in many ways just counter productive.

this was, again, just my personal experience with it.

Well, was more like yesterday. Lifted and installed Method Grid 309's on 33's. Didn't install center caps. Waiting on @MESO Customs TRD caps to be back in stock.

How did you remove the cigarette lighter without removing the panel?

    Ditch Light Switch Question

I recently installed ditch lights on my TRD OR. The install went well, the wiring harness supplied by Rago fit perfectly. The lights work, but I am having an issue with the switch.

I found a dash light lead on the voltage/watt reg switch. The light on the switch works, but it is on at full power. Apparently, the lead that I thought went through the dimmer did not.

Does anyone have any experience with wiring the switch through the dash light circuit so that it may be controlled by the dimmer?

    Thanks

Drove good and the 3.0 V6 engine had no knocks or taps but this truck spent it's life in the chicago burb's. I got there before they opened because I wanted to check the body real good. I poked the lower edges of the panels and the paint just flaked off. looked rusty under the primer and allot of it was bubbling. Frame was rusty but no pitting or holes. Had to pass on this one.
