Hey guys, just wondering if there is a way to set a "preferred" phone if you have more than one phone in the system. My problem is that my wife's phone usually connects to my truck if she rides with me. I have also had it connect if her phone is inside the house with her, but I start the truck in the garage, then get in to leave in the morning. This happens regularly. It's pissing me off. I can just delete her phone from the list, but we sometimes use hers because of the music she has on her phone, for our daughter. Any thoughts?

Delete both of yours. Be sure to link your phone first, it will take priority when they are both detected. Make sure your phone is first on the list.

MY wife's phone always connects first too (She has a 10xs, I have an 7). I don't think there is a way to prioritize?

There should be a priority setting. My girls is connected to my truck as well but it never connects unless I don’t have mine in the truck

Should have said this, we have the exact same phone. Both of us use the same Mophie case. My phone is listed, and was connected first. I don't know what else to do.

I have seen the priority on other head units. Usually it's like @Pella mentioned. Just doesn't seem to work (not for me).

My truck does the same, pisses me off to no end. She connected her phone first during the test drive. Now no matter what I delete or re-add in any order, my truck prioritizes her's over mine. And I drive it daily.

Both the Taco and our Subaru are schizo when dealing with multiple paired phones. They even seem to not function well when there are more than one paired. Since the Taco is mine and the Subaru is hers, we only pair one phone with the headunits. If someone else wants a turn, then they get the USB input. The iOS side of the family seems to live with charging cords like appendendages anyway.

I was going to suggest to the OP to swap the pairing order. Was thinking maybe: Last one paired took priority?

It's funny that my HU will select my wife's phone and connect quite easily even when my phone is in the truck. But when only my phones is around, I have to make more than one attempt to connect. Not really that big of a deal. But strange.

I would experience that and other odd stuff. It just wasn't worth the hassle for us, esp when we couldn't make pairing changes while moving. I have the HAI override cable to take care of that for me, but there is no solution for the Subaru. Talk about a safety system making things way worse . . .

Man, I went as far as unpairing both devices, disconnecting my truck battery, then repairing mine first.

    Still prefers hers.

I have a Pixel 3 and she has a Pixel 3xl, so it's not like we have vastly different BT chipsets.

My wife’s phone connects to her car, my phone connects to my truck. Problem solved:)
