Absolutely works including the 8 track. I use it all the time when I’m in the garage. Took me a long time to find one in that color and in perfect condition.
When I was a kid my best friends older brother had one and I thought that it was the neatest thing ever.
I always said that I’d have one, only took me 40 years to get one!

Bought an inferno... still love it but I think white looks best in off-road trim... couldn't buy it because the lady has a white C-RV. Quicksand is awesome too but at the time I was looking to buy I was seeing like 1000's of quicksands every day out on the road.

Underrated color that I don't see a whole lot of (on 3rd gens) is the lighter silver color - nice clean look that I don't think I'd ever get tired of.

Yep, she said it’ll show dirt and stone chips less than the white, she’s been correct so far!

    None... yet.
The day before I was scheduled to sign the papers for the Cement Taco, I got a call from another dealer I'd previously checked with, asking if I was still looking for a truck. I thanked them but said I'd found one, and was picking it up the next day. They offered to match the price and the specs and throw in a tonneau cover.

Now, this dealer was 2 hours closer than the dealer I'd planned to buy from: I live in the middle of nowhere, and I knew I was driving to get what I wanted regardless. But shaving 4 hours total off of my day was something I was interested in. And I wanted a tonneau, so getting one for free sounded good.

Only problem: the truck they were offering me was MGM, not Cement. I had wanted Cement since I decided I was buying a Tacoma. It didn't do anything for me in pictures, but I've never seen a grey color as interesting in person as Cement.

I was really tempted, and honestly, if the dealer had been honest, I probably would have done it. But when I asked them to put the offer in writing and give me a firm OTD price via email, they balked. After some pressing, I found out they were promising to match the amount I would be financing... after I put an additional $3k down. At one point the dude actually said something along the lines of "yeah, exactly, so we'll match the other dealer's price, after you put another $3k down." I said, "so your price is $3k higher," "well, you'll be financing the same amount." I kind of stared at my phone for a few seconds before I just started laughing. If you're charging me an extra $3k, that's not matching the price. That's charging me an extra $3k. My final words were something like "well, thanks for wasting my time, this is why everyone hates car dealers." Click.

Anyway. In the end, I got the truck I wanted in the color I wanted. I had to drive about 8 hours round trip to get it, but I basically made $3 grand for doing so, and it was a nice day for a drive anyway.

I don't think I would have regretted MGM, honestly, it's a pretty sweet color. But I know I don't regret Cement.

I'd prefer to slip around and not be noticed. Quicksand was the color for me. Drove through the national forest twice last week and with no rain for 6 weeks all the black on my truck was coated in dust but not noticeable on the paint. That was an added bonus for me

I love my MGM. Looks really nice and shiny after a wash and coat of polish. Just hard to keep frikin clean. One slight drizzle or even a heavy wind gust, its dirty!

I like how they would fade out in the middle of a song as it switched tracks and continued the song on the next track.

No, actually I fucking hated that. But cool artifact.

So where's your prize lava lamp?

Meh, Lava lamps never did anything for me. They took too long to warm up, my teenage body needed instant gratification!

I never really noticed that color until I saw it up close on a sunny day while walking across the Toyota lot. Looks amazing. I think you'll be happy when you see it.
