    Pats for sure have had a shit division for the past 20 yrs. No doubt they’re a good team but let’s not get fooled about their shit competition. They’ll get 6 easy wins every year.

    The Pats have been in the Superbowl 9 times in the past 20 yrs. A team from the NFC West (at least one for each of the 4 teams) has been in the Superbowl 8 times in that same timespan.

    Then explain to me their success in the playoffs, if shitty teams are the reason for their success.
    Currently the Pats in the Brady/Belichick era are at 30 wins, 10 losses (.750) in the postseason
    Their regular season rate is .746
    Against their division rivals, they're (I think) .784
    We're talking about a 4% spread here.

    So if the regular season and post season records are nearly identical, how is their success due only to playing against their division? The road to the Superbowl runs through the 'best' that each of the divisions can offer, and the Pats have been there more than anybody in the last 20 years.

    It's pretty hard to take shots at Cleveland when your biggest accomplishment is repeatedly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

    Basement dweller generally refers to teams anchored there, which is Cleveland. Cincinnati is in full tank mode I assume, and Pittsburgh is on their third string QB with an injured RB1, too.

    The fact that Cleveland can’t be better with everything they have offensively is laughable. They let their best coach walk and continued the cycle of letdowns.

    I'm reminded of this quote when I have exchanges with Patriot fans, of late.

    "At times one remains faithful to a cause simply because it's opponent ceases to be insipid."

    Trot out ALL the stats and rings you want from the past one hundred years. It does not matter. All anyone is talking about is THIS YEARS 7-0 start, and how much Pats fans are drooling over each other trying to convince the rest of us that this is the best defense in the history of organized football.

    The rest of us are not so quick to anoint them. We will wait until they are properly challenged.

    In the meantime, enjoy the season.
