I've had similar and I just skipped a leg day or two, then back at it. Figured I needed more recovery and that worked for me. The same with tendon-like pain in the inner left thigh.

Also warmed up a bit more, but never too long, and backed the weight down a bit. Always in a week or two tops I'm back to normal, including upping weight. But I back off as much as needed to recover.

I don't think it was a weight issue at all. I think it was just a matter of not being warmed up. Because after I did some other exercies and had a better sweat goin, I went back and tried another squat with the same weight and had no issues. I'm really tight in my legs and hips so I really have to get a good warmup before I start squatting. Should have rowed like I usually do but was feeling lazy yesterday and did other stuff instead.

I am getting back into the gym after being out a while and in order to build back up I am doing stronglifts 5x5. It is pretty easy now since the weight is still light but it builds linearly and I could see hitting plateaus in a few months.

Is continuing progress as simple as deloading and continuing to build, or does the program need to get modified at some point?

I never made it longer than a month and a half on that program. I got so bored doing the same 5 lifts. It’s definitely a great one to get back and build foundational strength though. I just stopped doing it after a month again due to boredom. Doing more focused workouts now but having the base strength from 5x5 was great to have.

Possibly not. I’ve killed animals before and know how to wield a variety of weapons....just don’t like doing it. When I was younger, it was easier. Now that I’m getting older, I understand that everything on this planet is here for a reason and try not to kill unless absolutely necessary.

I'm a hunter and feel the same way. I respect the animals, and love their meat, but I absolutely hate killing. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older, to the point that I rarely hunt anymore. I don't even kill "varmint" animals such as coyotes and bobcats. I will let them walk. I try to take one fully mature buck for meat / season and then I'm done. The meat is very lean much better for you than store bought shit beef.

I feel bad about meat I buy in the store. I do not feel bad about humanely and legally taken animals.

Our meat industry in the US is horrifically inhumane to both animals and people.

Hunting, I’ll never feel bad about that.

I feel bad I won’t be getting out this year. I need to make it a priority next year. My freezer is getting low.

Man idk how y’all stay as lean and cut as y’all do. Some times there’s weeks when I’m just hungry and want to eat everything and it’s like “I’m not even a bodybuilder so why take this so seriously” lol. Y’all have hella discipline.

Well, some more than others. For example, I tend to veer from the narrow path of eating only what my meal plan allows more than I should. That’s why I can’t seem to loose this dang belly fat. Being younger(which I’m not) helps to stay lean as well. There are some guys in here who are super disciplined with their diet & workout routines though. I see the photos they post and use them for inspiration. This thread in general helps me stay the course. That and when I look in the mirror, if I see changes for the better.

Same. I would love to get cut like they do but shit. I get hungry at work and don’t have any snacks so chocolate it is. Or I’ll eat snacks after dinner.

I’m in decent shape but fuck idk how they stay on track 24/7. It’s hard.

    Discipline.

It really comes down to priorities. How badly do you want to see those results?

Decide what’s important. And for some people optimal health, physique, performance, and feeling good isn’t what is important. And that’s OK.
But if any of those are important to you, decide to make it a priority. Every time you reach for something standing between you and your goals realize whats important and make that choice.

I don’t think anyone wakes up looking how they want or being how they want. Its a journey that takes years. You work on things incrementally with time.

Food does not being happiness and fulfillment. Any enjoyment it brings you is gone from the moment you swallow it.

I am reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and a really great habit I think thats critical to success he mentions is a lot of people focus on aspects of life they can’t control, successful people focus on what they can control.

Focus on what you can control and take charge of your life. Don’t waste time making excuses spend time making your dreams happen.

Again no matter what your goals are, keep them at the forefront of your mind. No one is going to make it happen but you.

I’m going to struggle like fucking nuts with keto so I feel your pain. I’m using the above to keep me motivated.

You're missing the last statement. I agree with you to an extent, but also agree with @PackCon . I'm happy while I eat, but 30 mins later I've already forgotten about it.
