RCI sliders are not full length

There's a template for a mounting plate for sliders somewhere here on TW. Save yourself a lot of trouble and have someone cut it for you on a plasma table.

I made my sliders 82". Any farther back there is no support and you're just making a huge lever arm to bend your sliders into the rocker.

 

UNLESS someone wants to put up the R&D money for .120 wall 4130 CrMo heat treated, gusseted and dimpled die’d. I would consider doing it.

you would have to drop a Tacoma from 30 ft onto a titanium 4’ pine cone to bend that lever arm.

Oh geeze. Let’s see. Math. Math. Almost 11 bucks a foot for .120 thick 1.75 dia 4130. Plus my hourly and consumables like er70s tig filler. Gonna need like 30 ft for two sets of sliders after the bending math (which I didn’t do because I’m full on pizza and can’t think) and then a trip to the big ass kiln for treatment. Prolly a thousand bucks.

 

Of course that’s not counting ALL the time swearing about how the holes aren’t lining up, the plasma table guy keeps rescheduling because we had to use it when his boss wasn’t around, so I cut the holes myself and botched it, waiting for the NEW material to show up...

also the waiver that says all my science is bro science learned in a Southern California bro shop and I can’t be held liable for that 30ft drop

What if I told you I paid $1.60 a foot for that 2"x0.120" tube...what if I also told you that it was MILD (1010) steel and not trophy truck grade gnar gnar 4130 like it absolutely must be for simple ass rock sliders...don't worry er70 will be used all day cuz thats whats there

 

I read this whole thing, what an emotional roller coaster. All I learned is that I really want DeMello sliders.

 

I would say “don’t drop it 30ft onto a giant ass titanium pine cone”

the only reason for gnar gnar is extending that longer coverage while giving it more strength to withstand bending.

 

Also that’s TWO sets of sliders so that’s 500 bucks a set. Either my math is off (only HALF Asian) or I’m just not paying myself enough money. I will not be investigating this discrepancy.

I find that when two or more people connect on a real and loving level, the learning and healing goes both ways. Although many times our discussions might have seemed like there was a “teacher” and "student”, to me it feels like we were opening up to Spirit and letting Truth flow threw us allowing healing to occur. Thank you for trusting me, making time for me, and loving me. It is the best feeling in the world.
