My dad said he bought the Blazer in June 1993, so I’m guessing July was when the first title was issued. There was no Carfax database for dealers and repair shops to info into...

As such, this report does not include my dad’s unscheduled visit to the dealer just a week after he bought the Blazer (with only 260 miles on the clock) when the A/C system blew a seal at the orifice tube and spewed most of that R-12 into the cabin through the defogger vents.

Nor does it include all of the warranty work and unscheduled repairs between 1993 and 1995 (including all four brakes wearing out at 28K, the tailgate being installed incorrectly at the factory, and the clear coat peeling off the wheels) that led to my dad writing a lengthy complaint letter to GM corporate.

My dad traded it for the Pathfinder in June 1996, and it would appear that it sat on the lot at the Nissan dealer for a month before someone bought it. My dad says he got like $12,000 for it, so I’m guessing Rothrock Nissan sold it for like $14,000-$15,000?

The report shows a little over 48K on the clock at the time the new owner took delivery...

    A656DF44-6C99-482C-9ECB-B6A6D38A3142.jpg

And it would appear that the second owner cracked 90K around the turn of the century, which was fairly high for a 1993 vehicle in the year 2000

The history report shows that that Blazer had over 104K by spring 2001. If you look at the end of “Owner 1”, you will see that there are no records for 2002 and 2003, and the owner moved in 2004. The Blazer was listed for sale at a dealer in September 2004 with over 126K miles...

Records show that the fourth owner bought the truck two days before Christmas in ‘04 and then the last record is dated March 2005, with only 1,220 miles driven in three months...

The fact that the December 2004 entry does not show “Loan or Lien Reported” indicates that the owner paid cash (You’d have to be damn stupid to finance a 12-year old Blazer with almost 130K miles, but someone financed my Pathfinder that was about the same age so nothing would surprise me). Also, now that I look closer I believe that my dad’s Blazer had only three owners (including my dad), and the fourth owner was a salvage yard or tow company. If you look closely you’ll see that the second title (issued July 1996) says “02” at the end, and the third title (issued December 2004) says “03” at the end. The fourth title says “04” at the end. All four titles had the same number...

I am sad to say that the 1992 Dodge Dakota LE is no longer with us (or if it is, it won’t be for much longer)... :(

I tracked down my pictures of the window sticker on Facebook (misplaced actual window sticker), and apparently I ran the first Carfax report back in January 2017 (right before my eye surgery). The truck was still alive and well then. Apparently it was offered for sale at Champion Mazda in Hanover, Pennsylvania on June 29th, 2019. It went to auction and ended up with a salvage title by August 2019.

So, the ‘92 Dakota will be headed to the crusher with less than 150K on the clock..

This is highly inaccurate, as my dad only owned the truck for a year and put about 10K miles on it in that time...

I don’t think there was severe damage; I think somebody traded in a 27-year old, 150K mike pickup with a manual transmission that nobody wanted; It ended up going to auction and in turn ended up in a junkyard...

The only accurate record here is when my dad took out a loan to buy the truck in June 1992 and the title was subsequently issued. My dad traded the truck for a new Blazer in June 1993 and apparently it was purchased by the second owner in September 1993.

Also, Windsor is in York County, so it would appear that the 2nd owner moved sometime between September 1993 and July 1997.

This would actually be the third owner; By August 1998, the Dakota (and the Blazer it was traded for) were both long gone and my dad was driving the 1996 Nissan Pathfinder...

It would seem that my dad’s old truck racked up relatively few miles over the years and had less than 140K on the clock when it turned 20...

And here’s the 2000 GMC Safari conversion van, which I suspect has been sitting in a yard in Ohio for almost five years (read on)...

This is proof that this was our van...

It remained titled and registered in Virginia its whole life, but when my parents renewed the registration in May 2001 it showed up in Oak Harbor, Washington (We lived there from July 2000 to July 2002).
