I'm having a lot of trouble finding the tonneau cover that meets my needs. I want something strong enough that I can stand on it without any concern and still want full bed access (or at least 90% bed access) at times. I thought about Diamondback, but they don't make anything that easily gives you full bed access. I found "Renegade Truck Bed Covers" that is a tri-fold and holds 2000 pounds but costs $2300. I won't need it to hold that much weight, and $2300 seems pretty high. I see lots of options that hold 400-500 pounds of "distributed weight", and standing on them frequently is not recommended. I see a couple of options that hold 1600-2000 pounds (diamondback, renegade). Is there nothing in-between? I've been searching for a few days now and not having any luck. I wouldn't be opposed to spending up to $2000 if it met my needs and had a lifetime warranty (i.e. diamondback). Let me know if you guys know of anything I've been unable to find. Thanks for your help.

I've been really pleased with my American Roll Cover by Truck Covers USA. They don't give it away. I believe I paid $1894 from carid. Truck covers usa has excellent customer service. Very friendly and standby there product. As they should, for that amount of money. Give them a look! I will try and post some pictures of mine.

All things considered for me owning it for almost two years now, id still buy it again.

I just ordered the Gator EFX hard cover. It was between that and the T5 by Tyger. The reason I went with the Gator is: Simple install, drain tubes, flush mounting, and secure when tailgate is locked. I changed my mind because I read that someone was getting flop in the wind on the Tyger at the front of the cover. I'm going on a long trip - I can't have that. And price. $643.00 shipped. Annoyed I had to pay internet tax.

Have to say, I personally think Diamondback is a great option considering your needs. I personally own the SE and I am comfortable standing on it. However, you do have the issue of bed access. When it is fully installed, it is actually very easy to remove the front and rear panels. All you have to do is disconnect the quick releases on the gas springs and slide the cover off. The only thing you are left with is the small center piece which is held on with two clamps on each side. If you need to take this off, it is as easy as using a 7/16 socket and taking it off. Total removal time, about 5 mins. This could be a pain however if you are planning on taking it off and removing it a lot, but it is something to consider.

Update on my tonneau - Just installed the Gator EFX and wanted to help anyone looking at covers.

    I like:
-Flush fitment and no leading edges for noise or wind
    -Easily opened, and removed
    -Pretty secure, nice hard panels
    -Installation is easy

    I dislike:
-Packaging couldn't have been poorer - falling apart, bubble wrap wasn't even secured to product
    -Slow shipping turnaround
-Metal shavings from the factory all over the cover when I installed it
-Attention to details seem to be missed on this cover

Go with a Diamondback. If you can't get your stuff to fit under it, just throw it on top and strap it down.

@valeyellow46 did you order off of Gator's website? Also, is it sturdy enough to stand on? I'm currently shopping around for a cover and appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I haven't personally stood on it but I got an Undercover Ultra Flex as well. Its low profile and folds up which gives you the entire bed. Ive had it for almost two years now and it has held up great.

That's great idea...is that a HD? From pics I see the SE doesn't have the same amount of tie down anchors, just one on each corner

I have a Undercover Ultra Flex and its a good cover. My only gripe is that I cannot find a solution to getting cross bars for my truck. Because of the way the flex is installed, there is no room for a mount to fit! Anyone have the flex and have cross bars above it?

From all my research, Lomax seems like a clear winner. The only downside is that the last panel doesn’t flip up against the back window, but then again, the whole cover removes in seconds. This tonneau still allows use of factory bed rails and can be had for super cheap if you shop around.
