If I actually lived somewhere that got that cold regularly I'd be up shit creek. I have like one heavy winter jacket lol. All my cold weather stuff is for when I go wheeling in the snow.

the wind is an absolute killer, though

 

That's about how I am. We hiked 7 mi on Saturday and it was 20 or so. I wore a long sleeve tee and basketball shorts

 

Get yourself a under armour storm 3 jacket. Lightweight but water proof and wind proof

Reminds me of when my dad and I hiked Mt Whitney a few years back, we started the summit portion of the trail at about 12k feet at 4am. It was easily below freezing, trail was iced over. I'm trudding along freezing my ass off in hiking gear and this dude casually jogs by my dad and I in gym shorts and no shirt. I thought I was seeing things at first

Yeah people get conditioned to it like nothing else. When I go elk hunting it will be 10-15 deg at 3 am when we wake up and my uncle is like that in shorts and a tee hauling ass up the mountain side like it's normal
