Plus, I'm not sure anyone worth impressing will like a loud exhaust.

 

There's some quality about it I just don't like. It's got this farty raspy note about it. I've heard it in all of your guys's trucks for the longest time that I can't put my finger on what it is. It's sort of like ricer meets that gross V6 from the DeLorean. I dunno, maybe equal length headers would be worth the time because it feels weird to not want my engine loud and proud.

I'm not concerned about opening it up though. The stock chambered muffler certainly isn't holding it back at all, it's still a relatively small engine and a decently sized exhaust pipe without forced induction.

 

If done wrong the raspy part does come out. Ben's (no offense) is particularly bad at show casing this feature for some reason imo.

 

Also equal length headers would be so much work. Not worth it at all especially just a DD.

 

Yeah I won't bother for a bit. Gonna do timing belt kit and regular maintenance like plugs, isolators, and wires this weekend. See if my exhaust guy can throw an ultraquiet or two in the exhaust for me on Sunday. Gotta find some coilovers for this thing, front suspension is 70s Cadillac level dead.

...Eventually, we found ourselves at the top of Cottonwood Peak. -ish. There are a couple caveats here worth mentioning. First, no road actually went to the top. Second, even the highest point of the road wasn't technically the top of the peak - it skirted along the southwest side by a few hundred feet - both horizontally and vertically.

And that was just fine with Brett - more than fine in fact! He jumped out of his truck and immediately challenged Monte to a race to the top. Of course, Monte being only slightly competitive meant that we really had to twist his arm to get him to accept the challenge.

Industrial hinges. Big bastards with 1/2" pins and 3/16" mounting plates. Lots of fun angles. I'm almost done with them for the day, can only go so long before I need TK send some to be zinc plated.
