Wow... The guy doesn't know the system he is demonstrating in 4WD is called TRAC and not AUTO LSD.

correct. In 4 wheel drive on non OR models TRAC is active in 4 low. This is what differentiates your 2nd gen from the 3rd gen trucks. Still not as strong as ATRAC but as you saw, it’s pretty capable even with 3 wheels off the ground.

Surprised it works all the time. Pushing the button seems to make the braking modulation stronger/ engage sooner

Terminology aside, this real world demonstration could save alot of time and questions as to how base model traction control works..

Yes, it is great to see Toyota do something smart!
On my 2010, H4 with TRAC was more capable than L4 with nothing helping the traction. This is what caused a need for the 4LO TRAC MOD for the non-Off Road models.

So.....would it be worth the expense to add a font ARB locker to a 2017 Tacoma Off Road 6 speed manual transmission with A-TRAC and rear locker?
For now, focus on the issues of wheel slipping on steep trails with rocks and loose, thin soil ,possibly muddy while possibly pulling a trailer and truck mounted overland gear. ( Lincoln National Forrest
    ,SE New Mexico)

(The utility and expense of an ARB compressor is another topic altogether, lets just say that in want one anyway.)

If you're wheeling decent stuff, absolutely, 100%, yes. A-TRAC is cool, but ultimately it doesn't have the ultimate capability of a locker.
