A couple of things to keep in mind on your way home.

The Cameron Lodge in Cameron, AZ. Just east of the Grand Canyon, on the loop from the north rim to the south rim. If you’re ready to be kick back and relax one night, this is the place. Great restaurant, huge gift shop, even has its own post office.
    https://www.camerontradingpost.com/

The Wigwam Motel on Route 66 in Holbrook, AZ.

Also on Route 66 near Kingman, AZ is Oatman, AZ where you can visit with the donkeys in town.

Rad man. Just some advice from someone who's been there. When you need a vacation from your road trip it's time to go home and enjoy hot running water on demand. After a few months(or years) of that you'll be so ready for a vacation from it. That's when the next road trip needs to start. lol

Yeah we’ve go a few more weeks till we are back in Tennessee but then we have a few weekend trips to New Orleans, hogwarts, Huntsville, Florida, and New York followed by house hunting in the state we decide to live in. But yeah we are nearing the end of our road trip but we have a few more big spots to visit before we are done.

Sounds like you've put some thought into it. There's a lot of articles on the "best" places to live. To truly know what the best place is for you to live you have to do exactly what your doing. Plus, let's be honest, it's a super fun way to just be free for a while. Free from time constraints, free from work obligations, free to just set a path and change it when you see fit. Road trips, especially long road trips, are things you'll look back on and have zero regrets about. You can't say that for many things in life.

Wherever you choose to call home at least you'll be well informed. Just do me a favor and strike Florida off the list. lol

Lol yeah I’d never live in Florida. I think we’ve decided where we are moving...I’d say 95 percent sure

we havnt seen everything we wanted to see so far, but we have seen a lot. every state has its pros and cons and things to love and hate. when we started this journey one of the goals was to find a place to live that is affordable, not insanely liberal, beautiful, and had things going on. we want to have a house in the woods with maybe a dozen acres, not too far from a decent sized town or city so that we could easily find jobs. we also want seasons and snow and diverse landscapes. its my intention to start my own mechanic shop/offroad shop/whatever i feel like building shop so it would be nice to find an area where that market isnt already saturated. lastly, my mother was recently diagnosed with cancer and my girlfriends brothers fiance was also diagnosed with cancer so we dont want to be on the opposite side of the country from our familys. Naturally its a difficult task to find somewhere that fulfills all those wants but i think we managed to figure it out. And the winner is....... unofficially........Michigan. specifically the grand rapids area. we fell in love with the state as soon as we got there. beautiful scenery, plenty of wheeling, the great lakes are just amazing, and the vibe just felt right. so unless we stumble onto something better on our way back east, i think michigan is gunna be it.
