The specs on the cleats on their accessories page are
Length: 6-1/16" and space Between Legs: 1-1/16" Can someone tell me if 1-1/16" is the centre to centre distance of the fasteners ?

1 1/2" from center to center of the legs of the cleat.

This was me adding another cleat to the middle section of the SE version. I tie my hammock off of it and a nearby tree. Nice solid tie down that doesn't rely on the locking mechanisms for support. Might help you. Measured with a digital caliper.

Thanks for the quick reply and the additional pics! Is the cleat made out of plastic or metal?

    A rugged plastic.

I work nights at a hospital. So, I basically check the internet at odd hours.

Has anyone installed L track on their Diamondback cover? I think it would be much more versatile than the factory cleats.

Just threw this bad boy on... kind of a bitch to install, they have a rail extension now at least for mine, the locks have been pushed to the last portion of the cover instead of more inner. Nonetheless it works and looks amazing

    Friends,

How do you secure pelican cases, YETI's, and other large items to your DB?

Anyone add lights to the underside of their diamondback? Thinking under the lid would be nice for getting ready to hunt in the dark. Thinking battery led may work well enough- easy to keep the lid removable without wiring.

Have a couple weeks to wait for my cover, but starting to think through my options!

I ran led strips along the underside of the rails, including a 3rd rail at the cab. All self custom, but the are some that sell here on the forums.

Light output is strong enough. You can see them in this pic (can't find one of the pics showing the light output).

You could also use a waterproof connector and drill through the bed, like I did for an auxiliary camera. Would just need a 2 prong.

    EDIT: https://www.tacomaworld.com/media/bed-leds-1.585907/#media

Try this link to my pics. Shows light output at night. Picture is accurate to what i can see with naked eye.

Not sure why i can't see this when pic when posting.

I'm curious about this as well, considered the same thing. From the little research I've done on it, other than just the overall quality of the lights themselves, it seems like heat can be a factor on the batteries. I'm in the southeast so it gets plenty hot through the summer. I'll be interested to hear if anyone has firsthand experience with the battery operated lights.

IMG_7447.jpg IMG_7446.jpg Not as cool as mood lights, but the courtesy light behind the cab can light up the front area of the bed when the front panel is opened. Typically, I just use a handheld flashlight (some with magnet) or small portable camp light at the rear when tailgate is open. A headlamp or Olight S1R Baton II on the brim of a hat works for me, too, for hands free use.
