Cannot find the original thread about hood support to bypass the hood prop stick.

Noticed many looking at the Red Line setup but I found the parts for a lot less and was surprised at 60% less.

    Austin Hardware had everything.

Previous posts has this site below siraweb but they sukc!

    Don't use https://www.siraweb.com/gas-props#/pageSize=100&viewMode=grid&orderBy=0&pageNumber=1

I could not get anyone to return phone calls when I had questions about parts.
I called and had to leave msgs with an answering service even spoke with Alona the manager or owner and she didn't call me back either! They have problems, if you have an issue who is going to fix it and take care of your order. NO ONE! Bad first impression.

Austin hardware had a small issue, sent me out replacement bracket right away!

    Part list:

They only had the AH 16340 in stainless steel, I would have bought all ss for the GSH bracket too.

    2 x GSH-851 - Small mounting brackets 10mm ball - Go on hood. $4.92
    2 x AH 16340 ss - Mounting bracket 10mm ball, 90 degree bend 2"
holes 1.5" center to center. $6.46

    2 x GSS 6306UK - 49 lbs force, 23" extended. $25.90

    Shipping - $12

$49.28 and 30 mins of time.

I sprayed the brackets up in black so they wouldn't look shabby after they are weathered.

I used stainless flat button sheet metal screws but will change these out for rivets
but I didn't have a rivet set at the time of installation.

It lined up nice and works great.

This solution is a lot less than the Red Line option and provides the same function.

Hood bracket is 11" up from the edge of the hood support. You can place it in front or past the indent notch.

Now you can place the brackets where you like to have the hood open lower or taller. I chose open more to have room if needed. Some may not be able to reach the hood on a 4x4 so lower may be your choice.

Base bracket is 4" from the firewall seam. Line up and mark.

I can take some pictures and post them here.

It was hot and sticky here in Texas still in Oct and just wanted to get it done, then darkness.

Plan to lay a tape out and take pics.

Of course you can vary the measurements depending how open you want the hood.

I wanted a good amount of room to work on it which won't be often with the reliability of this fine truck.

Redline racing makes a kit . I have one on my 19 TRD sport and you only have to release the safety catch and the hood goes up.

OP is aware of that. This is an alternative to Redline kit, but for a lot less.

I like it, but I am fearful of creating a hood dent while drilling a hood bracket hole.

That's why you use electrical tape on the drill bit and only expose 1/4 inch and no dent. Go slow speed take your time, steel is very thin, was surprised how easy it was to get through.

Even with the other kits you have to drill the same way. This way cost a lot less is the reason for the post. As they say..more than one way to skin a cat so it might as well cost you less.
