My 2018 got terrible mileage but you can at least carry spare fuel. Good luck recharging your batteries in the middle of nowhere

 

I’ve gotten over 400 one time. It was all hwy to PA.

 

Yeah this is really the only down side I see right now. I wonder what kinda range the Tesla truck will have. I guess we may find out more about it come November.

 

Lucky! I think the most I ever saw was about 370/380. That was around 30k miles and I was babying the fuck out of it. I also didn’t have heavy ass load range E tires at the time..

In addition to what you have said above...

I'm inclined to think that self driving is a non starter...at least for the foreseeable future.
For this reason:

It could possibly work if all vehicles were self driving.
But to have human drivers on the road at the same time as self driving vehicles?
That's a much bigger challenge.
Human actions are inherently unpredictable.

As to California...yeah.
Push EVs while simultaneously refuse to seriously address the structural deficiencies of their power grid?
Most of those deficiencies caused by political pressures...
