Another really destructive fire is burning in San Bernardino . This is the Old Fire burning in the Old Waterman Canyon area in the San Bernardino mtns and it's very close to where I used to live

This is area has been a very bad area for destructive fires over the years as strong winds funnel down Waterman Canyon

 

We have the weather channel up 24x7 over here in the NOC center... We've been watching the converted jetliners dropping fire retardant.. Didn't really know where you guys live exactly in relation to the actual fires..

I live NE of the San Bernardino mtns on the East side of Big Bear up here in the High Desert ontop of the Cajon pass

A few years ago fires burned all the way up here to the High Desert

If and when I can, I just sleep, or nap, when I can. Sometimes just hafta suck it up and press on.
I can deal with tired, but not hungry. I turn into one of those "Snickers" commercials if I go too long hungry.

Proof of California's failing policies for me is the number of good people I hear saying things like "I'm looking forward to moving out of here."

I think it's a simple case of too many people. But what do I know...I'm a simple minded Boxes on Airplanes guy?

We are about 2 miles from the Saddleridge Fire. Thankfully that one is contained. The winds have been pretty brutal the last few weeks and it’s still in the 90’s with everything being super dry. Not a good combination for fires.

Yeah, suck it up! That’s what we all do! I find I take more naps on the weekends these days. Just short little spurts here and there.

I’m with you on the hungry part. If I don’t eat I end up with a splitting headache. Which is why most of my lunches at work are while I’m driving or unloading. It never fails, I make my sandwich and they get in the truck and say okay let’s go. Really, I’ve been sitting here picking my nose doing nothing for an hour and now we need to leave?

You’re absolutely correct....there’s just too many people here and they keep building! Wherever they can!

 

A report came out from the Woolsey fire that burned over 100k acres in Northern LA County and Ventura county back in Nov 2018 . Officials said Fire depts included Cal Fire and County fire departments were overwhelmed and unprepared in fighting this massive destructive fire . They couldnt control the advancement of the fire

 

Doing good. I got some time off work coming up. Going to Minneapolis on Nov 1st to see grandson.
