On any TREs I wouldn't have a problem going 555/Sankei at all.
Or wait do we know if those inner TREs are crucial like the LBJ? I haven't read that yet but I dunno

No, I made a point earlier how you don’t hear about catastrophic TRE failure like you do with LBJ’s. They fail, but not as much as the LBJ. The ITR I would definitely go OEM.

I’ve never heard of an inner tie rod fail either, on a Tacoma

Yeah it's good stuff, good oil for any engine gas, diesel, etc. Oils formulated for diesel engines generally have more detergents and cleaning agents. Doesn't hurt anything in gas engines, but yeah

Reason is do OEM is because if it did fail, it’s a tad harder to replace than an outer.

purely because of price. OEM inners were crazy expensive. 555s had a good reputation and were considerably less expensive

Holy shit! I paid $30 for the 555 Passenger side. This was $45.

I’ve got to back in SF by 1, and it’s gridlock traffic. Let’s see how fast I can change this tie rod.

Did you check a DuraLast box for a 555? That’s where I found mine at Autozone.

If you're just doing the outers it shouldn't take very long. Count the threads when you unscrew it from the inner tie rod so your alignment is at least in the ballpark of where it was

$30 was Autozone DuraLast. $45 was NAPA advertised as Sankei 555

I know the 6.7l will probably get 15W40 in the summer because it's $20 cheaper per oil change lol
