Any recommendations for camping near Salton City, Ocotillo Wells, or the east side of Anza Borrego for a big group? From what I've seen during my searches there is a ton of boondocking sites but few with any amenities, primarily bathrooms and water. I found the Salton Sea State Recreation Area/Mecca Beach but not much else. We'll have about 10-15 people in our group and we're celebrating two birthdays so we likely won't be the most quiet bunch... :drunk: ...which is why I'm trying to find something off the main drag. Any tips are appreciated!

Not much out that way really, there is Borrego Springs nearby.
Or just bring a couple of RVs and camp almost anywhere you want.

Which is why I'm not really thrilled with the idea of camping right on the beach...

Ocotillo Wells can handle pretty loud people. Thanksgiving, Christmas and News Years are crazy out there. You can camp inside the OHV park. There are vaulted restrooms. Bring your own water. I bring a 5 gallon sealed water jug for myself to rinse off and a few extra gallons for drinking water. If you are getting into camping remotely they have privacy tents and just get a self contained toilet. Then you aren't stuck to places with a restroom.

I think that's what we're gonna end up doing. Thanks for the idea of the privacy tent!
