    I don’t prefer an auto but it is definitely easier to drive an auto.

    I have used my manual plenty off road, should have more but cant get away as much as I would like. I am usually the only manual in the group. I take it a bit slower sometimes and like a quicker pace during other moments. Downhill the manual is top, going up rocky ascents or needing some more wheel speed can be a challenge until you become proficient but its all personal preference. Theoretically the manual is the easier to repair and cheaper to maintain....
