Reducing brightness of instrument lights

Is there anything in the software of the 2018 Taco that would reduce the brightness of the instrument lights. I know about the switch to increase and decrease the brightness, but I would like to turn them down more and even turn them off if possible.

 

What does “switch light stalk to tail position” mean?

 

I know it may sound dumb but I don’t understand anything you have posted.

 

He's telling you to pull the fuse on the dash lights. No Fuse - No Lights.

 

I know I can kill the lights by pulling the fuse, I just want to turn them down so they’re not as bright. One of my earlier Tacoma’s had red interior lights, which don’t cause problems at night, like white lights.

 

There's a brightness dial on the spedo/gauge cluster. Looks like an odometer reset... but it adjusts brightness..

 

I mean...they get pretty freaking dark if you turn them all the way down with the knob. Are your eyes seriously that sensitive?

 

OP is aware and its still too bright for his liking.

OP - maybe apply some tint film to the gauge cluster plastic? Or wear sunglasses?

 

Put a piece of maybe 70% tint on the instrument panel cover?

Tint? Not a bad idea.

Me personally, i love those bright blue lights.
I turn them way up! Haha
