Truck is at Toyota now. Test drove it. Confirmed it. Saying everything looks ok. Stating it must be the tires. They are now suggesting road force balancing to attempt to find a faulty tire(s).

Tires were balanced two weeks ago. We’ll see what happens from here.

Two service manager's drove and rode in truck and said they felt the vibration, the service tech says there is nothing unusual with my truck and this vibration is normal for the Tacoma line, others agreed with him. I will be meeting with the district Toyota representative tomorrow.

Yikes. I bought a used 2016. If I had the same issues with a new 2019 I would be slightly more unhappy.

I should be getting a call today of the results of the road force balance. Hoping it’s a tire or tires that are out of round or defective. It sucks to have to buy new tires but I want this to end. I read another thread on here that a member had to go through nine (9) tires to get a set of 4 that were within acceptable road force limits...

Got the call today. “Good news and bad news”. The good news is that we aren’t charging you for the road force balance or a diagnostic fee. The bad news is that we were unable to fix the issue. Advisor said they definitely feel the issue but are unsure on how to fix it. Stated that all four tires passed the road force balance and do not have excessive road force. However.... the problem is slightly better but still definitely present. Said that everything else appears in good working order.

So basically I have a truck with an issue that Toyota does not have a remedy for. Possibly going to see what I can get for the 16 and purchase a 19.

The verdict is in on my completely stock truck with 1700 miles... "Vibration with rotational sound is a Normal Characteristic of the vehicle" On the two other new trucks they had me drive I did confess the one had a very slight vibration in the gas pedal. Long story short they had me open a claim with Toyota 800-331-4331 and told me if there were enough complaints Toyota may fix the issue.

i have one or TWO of these 'mysterious vibes' going on in my 1st gen Tacoma that for the life of me I have never heard in all the time i have had it
the big issue is that NOBODY in the 1st gen section, at least that I have not seen or unearthed from the past yet, has ever encountered.

most likely you guys' trucks are not experiencing these odd wind noises and/or vibes that resonate only at certain RPMs through all the gears, and it only occurred this past summer while the A/C was in operation

going crazy these past six months with NO Solutions as of yet
other than porking out the 100s of dollars for diagnostic fees at the Toyota mechanics to cure my old trucks ills...

Did some experimenting at 57 mph with sport mode 4th gear vibe very noticeable 5th gear somewhat less, then 6th even less vibration. Hit the ECT button and vibe increases. Toyota Rep said it is a direct result of the transmission bumping to a higher gear to increase m.p.g.

Finally got mine fixed. And by fixed I mean traded it in for a 2019 SR5 4X4.

Glad to hear, don’t forget to update yours in the “Vehicle” section haha.

Still trying to get rid of my vibration, same bullshit Toyota dealer says it’s “Normal” for these trucks. Didn’t notice it in the other ones I drove. Dealer gave me new tires and now I steal of feeling it at 70 I feel it at 80 lol. Gives me hope that if I buy decent tires it may fix it. Going to check my CB and U joints next

I test drove it quite a bit and did not feel it. Hopefully not. As long as the bed doesn’t bounce on smooth roads I’ll be more than happy.
