I just drop off my taco to Mule and getting my Nitro 5.29 gearing done. I bought the truck 3 weeks ago and I have a lot of future plans for this truck. I can’t wait too feel the
    difference.

hopefully you're putting larger tires on and a lot more weight...5.29 is gonna feel pretty off for shift points n a stock rig. 4.88 works really well on stock though. I actually run 4.88s on my heavy girl with 33/34s and like it.

Man, you're braver than I am. 5.29s on these tiny ring gears and pinions is gonna make for some tremendously thin teeth. That's also 38.5"-40" gearing in most six speeds, spread-dependent of course.

What's the reasoning behind going so aggressive with this platform?

From what I understand, the 3rd gen ATs are more like 4speeds with 2 overdrives, so 5.29 pairs very well with 35s and especially those with some weight. The difference between 4.88s and 5.29s seems to be ~200rpms at 65 or so. 4.88s seem to do well with 33"s and 5.29s for 35s+ in our platform. So if OP is going to get full armor and 35s, 5.29s would be the way to go IMO. If I ever decided to pull the trigger on 35s I will be definitely getting those gears as well.
