I did the install two weeks ago and it went as planned, cussing jammed fingers, dropped a hammer on my face while trying to get the axle out. Basically the usual issues as previously described in this thread. But it all went back together just fine.

I noticed now I'm leaking fluid from near the seal. And I do remember installing the seal all the way in. I guess I I didn't read the part about installing flush. So now I've ordered another seal and I'll be doing this all over again.

I encourage anyone with questions to read this whole thread while you're waiting for parts to arrive.

My only tip is when installing the CV axle, rotate the c clip so that the open end is facing down. And you can put a spot of grease on the clip to keep it centered on the shaft. Once you get that clip past the threshold it slides in easy using the hammer and screw driver method.

Hey guys, long time lurker, first post. I've got the pulsing vibes/growl like Mundane and Jubes described. No one responded to them if the pulsing is indicative of something else or if that is common with this needle bearing going out. Can anyone chime in if they had similar symptoms and if the ECGS bushing solved them?

Also, I'd be interested if anyone has the bearing removal tool they want to pass along!

    Build thread coming soon.
What you describe is the same thing my truck did. I did the ECGS swap 45k miles ago problem solved ever since. Depending on the mileage of you bearing since depends on how sloppy the bearing has become. I caught mine just in time.

Edit: PM me and I'll send the removal tool to you.

Haha. Yeah it's been a while and I've learned tons from this forum for sure. Only picked up my Taco finally a few months ago after wanting one for years. I've been too busy with other house and car projects to do too much to the truck yet, added some bed lights, gasshole, etc. But I love the thing. First truck after owning a 2012 WRX since new.

Ol'Gray mare, thanks for the offer! Sadly i didn't see it in time and already ordered one of my own. Guess I'll have one to pass along once I'm done with it

I should have circled back on this thread... my vibration went away completely once the bushing was installed.

I plan on installing this when the shop does my 2' lift just incase...anyone know the part number for the axle seal?

And does the CV have to be replaced when doing this or can re used the same CV?
Does the shop doing the install have to refill my diff fluid?

You can reuse the same CV, and the shop will have to add some fluid. If you haven't flushed the diff yet this might be a good opportunity to do it.

I’ll buy the tool and seal as well when I have them lift my truck I’m gonna have them Install it so I don’t have to worry about it later ...

weird I had an 04, 06, and 12 Tacoma’s all lift and never had or heard of this issue until I started researching my 2019 Tacoma lift
