This is my concept for an aftermarket curved flaring face plate product. Basically a plate same color as main rack that mounts behind the lower lip of the front flaring. I think behind would look best as that maintains the squareness of the reveal.

• It should be short enough to allow for adjustments in height but also not visible at its top edge through the existing flaring fold point.
  
• The lower tips under the logos should have a curve as you do with other corners, and the lower leading edge could be beveled back to account for the angle of install.
  
• Field install would include setting and drilling the holes but a nice detail would be be to have slotted holes on the face plate to make adjustments easier.

 

This looks like a really good idea. The gap I have on the front of the rack is relatively large, so having that piece to reduce the amount of spacing/wind going through would be huge.

 

Having had the Prinsu, they whistle worse than our racks. Are you wanting this piece to go straight down to the windshield instead of bending back like our current design?

 

Does anyone happen to have pictures of how the alpha ex mounting plates attach to the cap rails?

 

I’m fine with the bend back, I think it would actually look better. I care not about whistles and wind...comes with the territory and with all the crap I have uptop I’ve got a symphony already. By making it adjustable a true whistle could be tuned out.

 

So spent yesterday and part of today getting the wire harness ran and lights installed. For anyone with a 2nd gen the ThinFin will not work. The sharkfin is longer on the 3rd gens. So I have to improvise. But I am still able to take the rack off and not have to cut any wires.

 

Nice rewire...very nice.

I gave my buddy my ThinFin. The harness was perfect length. Only off by 2 colors between harness and 6 pin connector.

I have a spare 20" dual row light bar I was thinking of mounting rear facing to one of these racks if I ended up getting one. Anyone done anything similar or have thoughts on how easy it would be?

 

I don't know how easy it would be, but I plan on mounting up my 42" curved spare light bar in the exact same fashion...
