you lifted a 5 lug... that kills the ride.

also its from the era when trucks were still trucks for the most part

 

If I bought a newer truck it would be F150 F-250 or new Tacoma. Right now really saving to do some more stuff to lower and turbo my truck.

 

You took all the downtravel out of your 5lug suspension on purpose.... I don't think you knew what that meant at the time, but by know you should know that it'll ride poorly like that.

The beauty of buying a new truck is all the test drives. Helps decide. I always look at prices of regular maintenance and parts and the ability for me to do the work myself before I make my purchase

 

I prefer the transit over the taco

 

He's never ridden in a 1st Gen that's setup well. If I got the impression of 1st gens only from old stockers (they rode decent when new, at least the 4x4 ones did) and Bilstein 5100 setup 4x4s then I wouldn't want one either. Gotta put some thought and time into your setup to get what you want... But that isnt for everyone, some just want to drive a stock vehicle around.

 

i personally dont like the new tacoma power train... if i were to buy a new truck it'd be a tundra.

 

the 5 lugs ride good stock. issue is the shocks wear out really fast on them.
i installed new factory shocks on a 5lug for a guy. damn thing was a treat to drive.

 

The old torsion bar 5lugs ride super nice too. And you can stiffen them up without making them harsh
