Nice on the harness! What sucks is we are looking at getting a TRD Sport Premium, which has the leather/heated seats, moonroof, dual AC, etc. Well they only come with the standard headlights and you can't get them to add the new Pro LED lights. But the NON-Premium TRD Sport, you can get them with the LED headlights. WTH...

Yep. I just bought that TRD SPort 2020 truck configuration. The Premium package and Advanced Tech package doesn’t come with the LED lights, which is really stupid IMHO. Even on the website there is no way to add the LED headlight option for the Sport model. As far as I could tell, the LED lights are included in a couple cheaper Sport model packages, but not trucks with the ”Advanced Tech Package (Panoramic view monitor, etc). Ironic that LED lights wouldn’t be included in the Advanced Tech package. Lol

Anyway, I ended up purchasing the Sport model w/Premium+AdvTech because I really wanted the panoramic view camera option. I must say I’m very impressed with that feature. As for the LED lights, I’ve already purchased the OEM LED fog lights and OEM LED 2020 headlamps. Once the harness is available I’ll throw those on and the truck will have all the OEM options I originally wanted. That will be fine, but it is slightly annoying I could not just order it that way to begin with!

Took some night pics of how the LED lights on the 2020 perform on the road I live on. Quality isn't going to win any awards but you can get an idea. If people are interested in better pictures, I can break out the high quailty photography gear. Pics are in this order:

    • Low beams only - Decent light output imo.
    • High beams - Can see stop sign in the distance 3/4 of a mile from where my truck is.
    • DRL only - Love this option when heading into a hunting spot. Doesn't light up everything or that far, but can still see what's right in front of me.
    • Fog lights only - I own a Pro, so these are rigid lights.

Morimoto headlights yes. OEM, solid second choice.

Hello everyone, The new 2020 TRD Pro headlights are actually great at night and offer much better visibility than my previous experiences with aftermarket lights.
They have excellent range, color temperature, clarity and proper cutoff in low and high beam. The sequential signals are pretty cool looking as well.

No one said to the contrary, just that Morimoto offer more for less.

Putting personal opinions aside regarding which ones are better, the important point IMO is that we now have quality LED headlight choices in both aftermarket and OEM. That is awesome.

Yep, can't get the premium headlights on the premium model, ha. I've been going back and forth with the dealership for a few weeks now. They tell me they can, only to correct them that they can't. Guess because it's so new, but they are completely clueless on what's coming and available. We are going this weekend to hopefully buy the truck, so we'll see how that goes. Then I'll do like you and buy the headlights once a harness is made.

A TW member just confirmed that the 2020 TRD Off-Road LED headlight factory option also includes LED sequential turn signals, not just the Pro version. So the only real difference between OR and Pro headlights is the “TRD” and “PRO” lettering on the bottom of the Pro headlight assembly.

Does anyone know if you can remove the chrome bezel on the headlights?

It's inside the plastic housing right?
You'd have to take it apart and paint it just like the older headlights.

just completed the swap on my 2016 using the trd pro units. Install was very straightforward using the oem MX150 connectors and I just repinned the oem wiring. Makes a major difference in light output and how the truck looks.

So you cut and crimp the terminals to the OEM harness? Can you show? What did you do with the grounds?

correct. I cut off the existing harness connectors and soldered/ crimped to the new MX150 female connector. You only use one ground on the new connector and the other grounds that are left are just not used.
