@sigh824 @morcheez26 here are night shots, same angle. Mine is on top with the Morimoto XB headlights. Bottom is stock Tacoma with the new LED strip Lights. The other owner who has Morimoto Headlights as well, confirmed with me his LED strip is white yellowish compared to the other cars with OEM headlights with the LED Strip that are more pure white. We made sure the car is running and on drive seeing if this will make a difference on brightness. I'm not hating and I love the design, I just want to know if there's a way to make it more pure white then white yellowish. If not I believed we hyped this headlight way to much and disappointed because I was expecting white LED strips not white yellowish. Please help I want to know if this is the way it is or if I have a defective headlight.

You should’ve asked the color temperature before you bought them. I haven’t looked but it’s probably on the TRS website.

    Mine don’t.

Someone here tested them and they were something like 5050.

4k is literally yellow. The DRLS are pure white 5k. Some oem manufacturers have stock led DRLS at 55k even 6k so it varies by manufacturer. The picture you compared above shows top Pic with headlights on (dim led drl engaged about 40% brightness), bottom Pic shows parking lights on (full 100% bright Drls). So of course it seems "whiter" it's about 60% brighter than on the top xb picture example

@eledobleu my DRLs are the same brightness in all modes (park, drive, day and night). How do I fully engage DRLs to 100% brightness? Thanks for your help!

I would be curious to get them to the 100% brightness at all times as well...like when you put them on auto and they are the only thing lit up in the daytime...so much better looking then the dim night version!!! Is there a way to do this without cracking them open and @MESO ing them???

I saw a 2020 on the road last week, and holy sh*t do those headlights suck. The Tacomabeast headlights look way better than the OEM 2020 headlights. These Morimotos are the best though. The 2020 headlights low beam is too bright, so it makes the sequential turn signal barely noticeable

I've been doing some digging, turns out there are other users who has the same issue with their Morimoto headlight LED strips. They don't get more bright during the day. They stay exactly the same in all modes. I tested both day/night. When the car is on and off. The LED strips don't get brighter at all. I believe I may have a defective one. From what I've read, the people who has my issues found out the wiring is wrong.

Most of that info and comments appear to be pre 3rd gen. And even the pics provided. Mine definitely doesn't have that ballast. And some comments even said a 2015 Tacoma.

Hopefully you can get your issue worked out. Mine definitely are considerably brighter in DRL mode during the daytime. And then they dim when the headlights are turned on. Which makes sense. So the DRL isn't interfering with the headlight projectors. FB_IMG_1568499206511.jpg FB_IMG_1570574734021.jpg

Same here. Mine work as they should. Brightest as DRL’s.

None of this has anything whatsoever to do with the color temperature however.

My DRL strips are excessively brighter when in DRL or Parking light mode. I understand why they dim when you turn the lo or hi beams on, because the strip becomes blinding to oncoming traffic at that point. I should have taken pictures, but recently checked out a 2020 pro at my local dealership, and the LED DRL strip is NOT brighter than the morimotos, at least from eyeballing it without taking legit lux readings. Especially the sequential turns, the morimotos are wayyyyy brighter, albeit I think it's cool toyota threw in sequential on a stock headlight. As far as your photos go, I'm just going to disregard them completely. Looks like it was taken on a cell phone, the lens auto-adjusts for brightness, and two photos of the same thing can look DRASTICALLY different. Plus, the bottom photo looks like it was zoomed in on a photo, and then cropped.
