    It's so beautiful down there. I went to Ecuador for a week a few months ago and it was a life changing experience for sure. Everything down there is just absolutely breathtaking.

    totally agree. plus, whole civilizations have come and gone with no record and the Amazon has absorbed it all back up. its crazy to think about how much stuff could still be there and how much knowledge they left behind. the wife and I did our honeymoon down in Patagonia. it blew our minds.

    I went to a very small community in Ecuador when I went. One of the people in the town offered to take our group out to some property of his because he had something he wanted to show us. We went up to around 19k elevation to his farm. He took us on top of a mountain and it was really weird - The mountain had a massive trench dug out around the entire top of it. He later told us that the hill we were on was a campsite for the Inca's and the valley we were looking over was where the final battle took place when the Incan Empire fell to the Spanish. It was super cool.
