I am trying to actually have an intelligent discussion with you on the future of this venture. Personal differences aside I am trying to understand how this would even work. So you are saying shit like bumpers and racks would be stocked in places like this? Doesn't that add to a ton of overhead?

You know most people consider driving on a dirt road offroading. They'll take their perfectly framed insta photo and call it a day. 90% of these people will never use any of this "overlanding" equipment. But it's your right as an American to profit from that.

To be completely fair, I've known of off road shops that get shit wrong all the time. From alignments to electrical wiring of lighting. Nobody is perfect. I'm not saying the chain shops would be any better. But the attempt to get into the market is good imo.

Guys, for clarity..service dept has NOTHING to do w/ this. There will be a list of recommended shops at each store after they are validated and prove capable of doing the work.

And lead times yes.... I'm not that old or anything but I honestly cant think of any other market (even where things are custom) that has lead times going into 14-16 weeks. Not including special order vehicles

So that the discussion is behind closed doors and not on a public forum? No thanks, that’s kind of the point of public forums.

I think this is more geared for stock jeeps and Subarus and other weekend warriors out there.

I get it. You just want a bunch of built trucks to show up so you can impress your vendors and help your business.

Negative. I have a work truck so the the tacoma doesn’t go around town much. If I do run out in it most people ask “where you going?”, and I tell them about the state I just got back from or the one I’m heading to..

There's more to it than that. But yeah, that's part of it. They can be stock trucks or jeeps. It's really just about the fun of it. There's a lot I can't say on a public forum but like I said if anyone is really interested my number is posted you can always call.

idk man just a bit of an elitist attitude it seems thats all, we don't all use our trucks the same.... and thats ok...

OP is trying to further his line of work here, and people come in the thread complaining that this is bad for the consumer....???
this is a free meet and great with vendors offering products that the majority of us here have on our trucks...
this isn't some highway robbery scam

Agreed. I dont know why people are bashing the meet like it's some kind of sick scam to take business away from the mom and pop shops. Let's be real. Toyota mods are EXPENSIVE. When I had my Wrangler. The same type of parts were half as much. And that was mostly because the market was flooded with parts. With little to no lead times.

So because someone is trying to open up the market for toyota trucks it's a bad thing? Hey guess what guys. Its America. If the mom and pop shops are making a great products then awesome! But if I have MORE options now at good prices. Why the hell not?
