The taco one looked just like the one from my 80 series Cruiser. You notice if most of the egr modulators were the same on the Toyotas?

They all looked the same but I suspect that the vacuum spring has different tensions. I figured any working one was better than a broken one.

yeah it doesn't mean you're back together unless you've had that talk.

After being together for 8 years it must have been comforting since it was part of your relationship for so long

Good point, any working one would be better than this Dorman thing I put on there 3 years ago, it's been fine..... Wait a minute. During warm temps, 70 above, at highway speeds and just maintaining load/speed I get a loud snap or pop from what sounds like engine bay driver side, I deaf in right ear so could be wrong. I haven't been able to figure out what it is but it's loud. And can have slightly different tone to the snap or pop sound too. Wonder if it's anything there within the EGR system. What could make that loud of a pop though I wonder.
I'mma grab an egr modulator at the pic n pull

You've been driving 3 years with that loud pop happening and just ignoring it?

It only happens sometimes, but yeah I mean obviously I notice it and if it affected something I'd notice. But nothing affected. Almost like it's pressure building up and releasing, tough to describe. I'm pretty good at keeping my stuff running in top shape. But this particular issue I can't find anything on this site or any site that sounds like what I'm hearing or experiencing

It probably is the dorman diaphragm then. Maybe it has a weak spring inside or different style all together internally.

Well I was just thinking about it as i tried to find something and I remember asking the PO about it after I bought it and they said they brought it up with the indie shop they use and the shop told them it was prolly the blend door or something, I was just like whatev okay. NONE of the hvac controls have any affect on the pop or not. So PO had it going on too, before I replaced that EGR modulator. A couple months after purchasing the taco I replaced that egr mod to get rid of an MIL but replacing the VSV for EGR solved that one.

That's weird. Do you have a check valve anywhere else in the vacuum lines? It isn't suspension related?

It's very different. No not related to any suspension movement, it's specifically load of the throttle. Like I'm cruising interstate 2500+ RPMs and then if I accelerate soft to maintain it'll do like a random loud snap or pop. And it sounds like it's coming from right in front of the driver side in the engine bay like on the firewall or something

We had gone out to dinner last night, and that's when I broke out the conversation her dad and I had; he was asking me if there is any way we could work things out between her and I.

It's so out of character for him since he's old school and very dry, the type that won't really say thank you much less compliment people. I've grown accustomed to his way of saying "thank you" and know it took a lot to say what he said that day.

In the end, she'll remain my best friend and I'll always be there for her.

Damn door handles won't be here until Monday since my 'office' isn't open on weekends.

Been leaving my window down to get into my truck :frusty:
