    measure up from the top end of the hood hinge 16" and put a mark. and to help find your mark at 1 3/4" from the edge of the hood i used a level placed on the edge of the hood and measured off of that.

    here's a pic showing where to measure for the 16"...

    I tried to resist, but failed. :eek: Order placed for (1) 05-11 QL Plus struts.

    Also bought a swiveling riveter from Harbor Freight...never used one of these before so I'm looking forward to installing these struts.

    Installed my RedLine QL's today. More of a luxury item than a necessity. But they are sweet. If you don't have a rivet gun, 1/2" metal framing screws can be used. No center punch or drilling needed. Just measure & screw them on.

    As I was using the rivet gun on my 1st. hood bracket, I realized how much easier it would be to use screws. They are short enough so that they don't go through the top of the hood. Although, I completed my install with the rivet gun, I wanted to post on TW for member reference.

    Too bad the EZ Downs bind with the existing tailgate cables, otherwise they would be a nice addition.
