Not normal, have you checked with a code reader to see if it's throwing any trouble codes? any Check engine light or other lights on the dash illuminated?

The engine itself runs fine. Im saying the stick shift itself shakes. No codes or lights.

Ohhh, well there is some shaking, but i wouldnt say it's excessive. I can grab a video of my 2.7L 2wd 5spd at lunch today if you'd like so you can compare

Thank you- I would appreciate that. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. First manual vehicle other than a motorcycle.

Every manual I've driven with a longer throw has some vibration to some degree. Throw a video up so we can see what your's is doing.

OP- What engine do you have? 4 cylinders are inherently imbalanced, and the giant 2.7L is coarse and vibrates a lot at idle- it's not a BMW inline 6. The shifter mounts directly to the transmission so it vibrates with the engine.

i would say mine is similar.

years ago i test drove a used dakota. the shaking in that shifter numbed my hand. something was going on in the gear box/clutch.

Does it smooth out if you raise the rpms? Mine shakes a little when it’s at a low idle. As soon as it gets up to 1500 rpms it’s gone

Doesn't look like anything I'd worry about, the 4 cyl is naturally slightly unsmooth at idle. I'll take a peek at mine later and see if it does the same, I think it does.

It really starts doing the electric boogaloo in 5th at highway speeds, that I know for sure. Normal.

I definitely had a bit in the stock shifter, when I switched to a core shifter there wasnt as much shaking/vibration but it did get kind noiser. It really seems to only do it in neutral though.

Check your transmission mount for wear.
