Dude, I feel ya. (Believe me, I promise, I do) buuuuut you got a group of guys here that their belief in you and the enjoyment they get hanging with you FAR exceeds the love you've felt in the past and that's what's awesome man! Lots of folks end up way way affected, rightfully so, from upbringing but that all changes with you man, it changed when you made the conscious decision to not continue that pattern that I'm sure your pops learned from his. You're breaking the habit :D:cool:I'll shut up lololol

And what's crazy is parents of the kids have so many many things that they could be proud of, but if the parent chooses to not show it at all because of their own insecurities or for whatever, it's a reflection of the parent not the kid. Poor kids can't know that til later when they're older and in therapy or something or just pick up on it

My brother is a LEO (works for State OHV), and so are several friends. I'm the black sheep of the group by being the nerdy scientist, lol

Even LEOs who are trained to be "good witnesses" are, really, terrible witnesses.

For witnesses, though, there's more than just how you remember things. It's how you perceive things in the first place. Our eyes absolutely SUCK at seeing things. Like seriously. Our primary area of focus is like the size of a pencil, and everything else is our peripheral vision. Anything in that area is blurry and our brain can't distinguish it easily. So, our brains actually just completely fabricate things in order for those blurry objects to make sense to us, based on prior experience.

Evolutionarily speaking, that's what keeps us alive. If you see a blurry object out of the corner of your eye, your monkey brain will assume it's a tiger, and your flight or flight system takes over. I mean, it could just be leaves on a branch fluttering in the wind, but you're more likely to stay, um... not eaten by a tiger if you assume it's a tiger.

That's why I flinch and hit the deck when a humming bird flies near me. I have a monkey brain.

One of my wife and I's big fights started because she broke one of my door handles by accident - it was a couple years ago and was during the middle of a 2 or 3 month window where the handles kept failing. We were wheeling all day and made it to this brewery up in Lake Arrowhead, decided to take the same trail back down instead of the boring surface streets (probably would have been smarter though) even though it was getting dark.

Of course I made a wrong turn somewhere and we got sort of lost, finally figure our way out to the highway miles from where we intended to be, and I pull over to air up...she's outside for a minute then goes to the truck and opens her door and *snap* I swear I heard that thing break from like 30 ft away lol.

I was like WHY DID DO YOU DO THAT?? even though I knew it wasn't her fault, I was just pissed cause I had replaced that same one probably 3 times already. She got even more pissed back at me. Of course it turned into a 'why do you blame me for things' talk. Was a fun ride home. Thanks Toyota

My friends and family LOVE when a bee flies near my. Like I just freak out. Doesn't even have to be a bee (harmless humming birds, or perhaps a leaf falling from a nearby tree)

Let's just say I don't really like bees. I know they're pollinators and all that, but fuck that, go pollinate a tomato plant and leave me the hell alone.

I am fine with bees. Being out the Mud Daubbers though, that is when I start running.

Nope haven't touched it, don't need it when you work for yourself :D but if I want the big bucks working for someone else I'll have to have it.
Question for ya, what pay range does that position you're doing end up at? Like after the intern stuff
