An extra key so the vehicle can be locked if it is left running is cheap,doesn't mean they won't break a window to get in. I don't think the insurance company will cover the damages, as it was negligences on the owners part, but thats life!

 

Def get a remote start next time, that way when the scumbags try to steal it, it will just stall out

 

I can't even describe how mad I would be.

I say we adopt the chop off your hands if your caught stealing punishment. In this case since it was a first gen taco, death penalty should be in order.

Hope everything works out, Since you have full coverage Im sure they will pay out.

 

That really sucks, that is why i use an autostarter, that way the truck can remain locked.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I believe that due to it being in your garage, the insurance should cover it. If it was parked outside, they probably wouldn't have to cover. You could check with your homeowners insurance also. They may have a clause that would cover it because it was inside, if it's attached to the house.

Dont know about the newer Tacomas but the doors wont lock in my "02" with the keys in the ignition.

I use my spare key to lock it, while it's warming up.

in my '08, you have to use a key to lock the door.
