I think "large caliber" is anything above .380, though with 16 holes I'd venture 9mm.

The plot thickens! It turns out that this whole thing may have been exacerbated by HR not moving "in a timely fashion." Senior management put out a building-wide email with more details.

    - "Patient Zero" who brought the critters in openly admitted that he got them from the assisted living facility that both his father and mother-in-law live in, and he'd secured the lawyer because he was going after that location because their living conditions were so bad. He can't move them until they're declared bedbug free. He let HR know immediately once he realized what was happening at his own house and asked if facilities could check to see if he brought them into the building.
    - The two local people who then took critters home with them are now focusing their attention on HR and facilities not being more responsive (we all agree - they suck). They also have confessed to spreading untrue rumors about patient zero because they were told immediately to not come in to the facility...and came in anyway (idiots).
    - Senior leadership has directed anyone who comes up positive with bedbugs at home to contact the chief of facilities (about time).
    - Senior leadership also recognizes this could have been handled better (ya think?).
    - There have been no signs of bedbugs since the day of the treatment - turns out that our facilities people can't tell the difference between bedbugs and black crickets (doh!).

Meanwhile, everyone else in the building is teleworking anyway, and I'm stuck here watching the drama unfold in real time.

This is like a daytime TV show. "As the Nerd Turns."

Stay tuned for updates on the lawsuit against the assisted living facility. I'm dying to know how that turns out because the facility my FIL was in before he passed is no longer open because of crap like that.

So........I didn't conclude my previous reply to your post (Landlord) because I'm a cynical son-of-a-gun and didn't want to project my perspective on your situation.

Not my experience, but another landlord I know well had this rodeo.

Bedbug infestation, tenant calls and complains. Landlord treats in stages, ends up requiring nuclear course-of-action (everyone moves out, tenting property) after exhausting other treatments. Duplex, so two families have to find other lodging for a three days/nights. Kids involved in non-infestation side. We'll come back to this later.

Both families moves back in. Infested side infested again during their lease term. Another nuclear treatment response. Non-infested side says screw this, breaks lease and finds less dramatic place to live. Infested side wants reimbursed for temp relocation expenses........

Fast forward again. Landlord evicts infested side tenants after third infestation. Tenant's sue. Landlord counter sues. Landlord initially loses. Wins on appeal, although at just under $20k in legal fees on his dime, "wins" is an oxymoron.

Fast forward, more than a year later. Non-infested ex-tenants sue for..................I don't know what specifically, but something involving ongoing medical treatment of one of their children attributed to nuclear bedbug treatments. He and his insurance company settles out-of-court for a "significant" figure (his description). His current insurance company cancels property/liability coverage as they paid lions share of settlement. Finds another insurer......at premiums more than double previous carrier.

Hope your employer/co-workers comes out better, but won't hold my breath if the "employee" has lawyer'd-up. Regardless of that outcome, pay attention to whatever literature the bedbug wranglers provide and take it literally. Easier to kill us than those little #$%^@'s!

It’s surprising that he walked two miles through Kensington and only got shot 16 times. He could have been collecting lead the whole way.

I get pissed when I see the “models” leaning on cars in jeans because those things have rivets that scratch paint.

I can only imagine that guy needing police protection from those cars’ owners.
