I experience the same issues, most notably when driving into a headwind (which is 90% of what I drive unfortunately). I cruise along at 75 ish then encounter a slight hill and the truck grabs 5th, then comes the headwind and the truck creeps to 74, 73, 72, 71... all while I'm slowly rolling onto the throttle then all of a sudden the truck bangs into third at 75% throttle and rockets back up to speed where it shifts back into 6th and the cycle repeats.

    This is a 2019 with 33s, stock gearing on 1.05 91 base.

Have to say. 2.0OLE is great. I had issues at first. So I went back to 1.5.

The issues arose on 1.5. That I didn't have before going to 2.0.

    Made me think

I never cleared any of the DTC's

SO I cleared the engine and trans DTC's

    Loaded 2.0OLE..

Has been the best this truck has ever ran / drove.

If your having issues with something. and have never cleared DTC's. do it.

Thank you Matt for making this a great truck!

Thanks, I was multi-tasking and must have glossed over it. Either way, two more people just chimed in and said they experience the same thing so I guess their collective point was moot.

Not quite. One on 4.88, other on 1.05.
Question, how do you know which gear is on?
    Do you monitor?

I had the issue on both 1.05.1 and 2.0. Regardless, other people are seeing similar behavior, I don't get why anyone feels the need to shit on me for verbalizing it. I didn't go out of my way to complain, I didn't start a thread bashing them, I simply responded to an existing thread where I happened to see that someone had the same problem.

It's fairly easy to tell that it's skipping a gear when the truck shoots from the low 2k RPM to over 5k. Then when it upshifts again, there's a middle step around 3500. I then correlated that RPM number at those speeds with each gear by using S mode.

    Mat,

I’m in a similar boat as this guy. Truck holds 5th & 6th great on flat land with small rolling hills. This is 3/4 of my drive to work until I hit a hill that is relatively steep for a highway (probably about 12-15% grade). As I started going up the hill the truck smoothly shifted from 6th to 5th. Once in 5th I kept depressing the pedal until I had it on the the floor for a few seconds before it finally slammed into 3rd, then 4th, then back to 5th. It only holds 3rd for a second before it realizes it should be in 4th. This is in the Sierra NV mtns at about 4500ft (reno,nv).

Is this the design intent of the tune as the previous poster said?

Did you make a zendesk ticket? It's honestly the only way to get feedback to him properly and the only way that issues can be addressed and resolved (if possible).

Anyone have trouble flashing to stock? None of the OV tunes are helping the stuttering and hesitation so I'm going back to stock and seeing if the dealer can do anything. I'm getting this error every time. I can flash to 1.05 no problem. But anytime I try the stock one, I get this. I have no lights on, radio is off, etc.

I have a 2016 Automatic. 4.88's on the 0944 Tune. No issues. City, Local, towing, highway - all good.

Guess the 04B04's have it right. Thanks to Mat and his 04B04 test vehicle.

Wonder how many of these other ECU's / Tune issues are partially related to low ATF? If I was having shifting issues I'd be checking the ATF level just for piece of mind. Mine was low even after the Stealer said it was good after they added 3/4 qt. I added another 6oz to get it within spec. and yes it did make a difference. No way the Tune can compensate for low ATF. Just something to consider/eliminate before blaming the Tune.

This is how my truck was behaving as well, I'm back at stock until 2.0 non beta releases. It was doing it at 1.05, then I switched to the 2.0 beta, still doing it, submitted a ticket(10367) and never heard back so I'm back at stock. I'm looking forward to the new tune but don't post much on here because I don't want to get hollered at for noting my experience.

always start with the Flash Manager (version 1.3) and always click on the "help" button then "update." then go to "Tuning" and click on P5Flash Utility - then double click the version of the flash you downloaded for your ecu. Be sure you have your usb cable connected to the computers' 2.0 usb hub and that you have pressed the vehicle start button twice to get to the proper mode. If you want to clear the AT and LV do these after you do the "update" and before you flash the new tune. Hope this helps.

So you are saying the 4.88 (944) tune works better for you than the newest 4.88 2.0 87 octane (19800) tune currently on the OVtune public 2.0 site (stock exhaust)?

Serious question because I have 4.88’s too and am running 200+ miles tomorrow through the mountains of Idaho on the newest 4.88 87 octane (19800) tune.

Know you are asking @inksin -

are you p5f or pcm? I have the 0944 p5f and yes for me 0944 (which was a performance tune for 4.88's 04B04.) is much better than 19800. Less skinny pedal and more aggressive tip-in. If he has it you may want to give it a try. If P5f pm me.

Most of them. People still don’t believe it is an issue or want to spend the 10 minutes to rule it out
