EQing is certainly a matter of taste, but this is how I set up the EQ on my truck with stock speakers. The sound is SO much better than the oem head unit.

I did break the first rule of EQ’s though, which is to subtract instead of add.

I think I subtracted on the lower ones as well. Little speakers just do not like it turned up. EQ is a nice touch.

Took mine out today to mess around with the mounting brackets, put it back in and I have no steering wheel controls or back up camera. I tried resetting it to factory settings but nothing. It doesn’t even switch to the backup camera screen. Ugg, super frustrating. I did change the setting for the canbus, so that it’s set back up like it was originally, but I can’t think of anything else to try. I’m hoping the canbus is just bad, otherwise I don’t know what to think.

I had a similar issue. I started fucking with the “when you press this button it controls this” & started changing canbus modes. Then I made too many changes and tried to go back to regular. Nope. It took a while but once I went back in and cleared out my “custom” button presses everything worked again

Unhook the radio from all of the plugs in the back leave it unplugged for a few mins then plug them all back in. It'll reset the unit

I had the same issue. In settings under car settings there’s steering wheel controls. Go there, hold down the button you want to program and then it will give you the options for what you want to program it as.

Well I got the black screen of death. What’s the fix? Because the reset on the front doesn’t work. I don’t even think there’s a button in there

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have an extra canbus for a third gen sitting around that they’d be willing to part with?

There's a good spot to do it on the passenger side of the radio space. A 10mm box/ratcheting wrench to loosen the OEM bolt slightly and slide the ground terminal underneath it and tighten. Easy peasy.
