Sell yours, and I'll sell you mine. Bought it Labor Day weekend, has 1700 miles on it. TRD Pro wheels/Faulkin 265-70-17 tires, Pro grill, bed mat, OEM all weather floor mats, tinted windows, $32K and it's yours. I have the title in hand.

Truck is super, but I shoulda went full sized.

Sounds like you made the right decision at just over 25,000. $36,000 could get you a lot more truck, and I don't mean a Tacoma.

I'd look into trading it in on the truck you really want.

Maybe get a longer loan if the payments are an issue.

You said it would probably be the last new truck you'd ever buy. Would suck to have regrets.

When I bought mine I told the sales dude exactly what I wanted, and that's what I got.

Its definitely not a dumb decision if you bought the model you could afford.

but once you get the SR V6, then you'll wonder about 4x4, then maybe TRD Sport.. where does it end?

Oh wait it ends at TRD off road.. nobody wants the overpriced Pro anyway. So you might as well pucker up now and trade it in for the TRD off road 4x4.

I think a lot of people are the same way when it comes to 4X2 vs 4X4.

You’ve got a great truck. It’ll do everything you need it to.

A V6 model will also be a great truck that will do everything you need it to.

    I’d stick with the former.

No way man, just extend the loan and overspend for something outside of your price range. Gotta impress the people on TW.

Keeping up with the joneses is a great way to always be in debt and have a very shaky retirement, if one is able to retire at all.

I kinda feel where you're coming from. I love the crap out of my truck, but there are times I feel pings of sorrow that she won't be able to keep up with the "big boys" even as much as I'd like. I have a 19 SR AC with just under 1000 miles on it, but I held out for one with the SX package so I did get some perks such as keyless entry, cruise control, and a few other things I forgot for under $25K. The main thing I miss is 4x4, as I love offroading. But as long as I plan trips carefully, have the proper recovery gear, and accept that I'm never rock climbing I can still have plenty of fun. Plus my gas mileage is super sick. I'm averaging 21mpg. I told myself that I'd drive this thing until the wheels come off but I know I'll likely trade up in a few years.

Don't feel bad...Feel good! SR with the 2.7? I have a 2017 SR 4x4 with a 2.7 and 5 speed manual. $10.000 for 2 more cylinders? 2.7 is cast Iron and can handle Proven time and time again.
